I don't normally review but I can't recommend this place enough! They went above and beyond on everything from start to finish.
My wife and I booked a family photoshoot with our 3 year old toddler and of course he decided to have a complete meltdown just as we started changing. The staff were so sweet and understanding in getting us changed while also helping him calm down. As he continued to bawl on and off during the photos outside the photographer was so patient and lovely, distracting him to get good shots. Towards the end my wife and I were exhausted and wanting to stop ourselves but the photographer encouraged us to complete the photoshoot. We were so skeptical whether there would be any good photos since our son was so upset but we ended up getting so many good ones!
The photographer spoke good English, and even though the bulk of the photos were sent a few weeks later, she did send 10-15 photos within one day so we could still post quickly on social media. The kimonos were lovely too, especially our son's little blue one with a prop samurai sword as well!
Overall they really helped turn what would've been a miserable situation into a very...
Read moreWe booked a kimono rental as well as a photoshoot for our family of 4 including 2 children under 10 years old. The process of submitting a reservation request via the Google form and communication over email was smooth.
The process of arriving, check-in and selecting all the pieces for the kimono also went smoothly. Highly recommend opting in for the hair set. My wife and two daughters got it and was very happy with how nice it looked for not that much extra time.
After we had got dressed up, our photoshoot with Yamamura-san in the streets of Gion was so fun. We took lots of photos in the streets, at Yasaka Koshin-Do Temple, and a nearby park that still had some cherry blossoms in bloom. Yamamura-san was very patient and accommodated most of our requests and did her best with two children who were not always the most cooperative for photo taking.
All in all it was a fun, a unique adventure and easy to coordinate. Also note that although the staff, photographer included, speak English they are not fully fluent so be cognizant of this fact. A little Japanese goes a long way to helping...
Read moreHad a great experience with my kimono rental and photography. The location is perfect and close to where most would want pictures. I'm not the best at having my pictures taken, but I really wanted a lasting memory of my time in Japan. So I booked the photography with Yuko san. She was amazing. She was very patient and directed my posing. She also had places already in mind for the pictures too. There were lots of options of kimono and I found one that was perfect for me. I opted to wear the kimono for the day and return before they close. I kept getting complements from both Japanese people and people from other countries! Booking was easy, I got a response and confirm within 3 days of completing the reservation form online. Really happy I did this.
Update: I got my pictures and I LOVE THEM!! OMG they came out so good. Again, really happy I did this and very grateful for Yuko san and her attention to detail and dedication to the locations and my poses. Absolutely worth the 4-6wks...
