Wifey and I found this coffee shop literally 10 feet from our Ryokan. It was one of the only shops open early in Gion for breakfast. It got busy really fast and a queue started to form after we got in around 8:30am. It’s a western inspired breakfast spot with some japanese highlights. I wished there were more traditional japanese breakfast options but it is a coffee shop after all. That being said, the service was fast and attentive. I was surprised at the speed they got the food out as every table was filled. I was expecting a long wait but did not have to wait long. The food hit the spot, didn’t remember how the coffee tasted so i guess it was just okay lol. In the afternoon this place turns into a dessert and matcha shop. Didn’t get to try it then but it sure looked delicious. Decently priced, would go again :)

Accepts credit cards. Not a ton of breakfast options but all pretty good and the coffee service had many options.

Good food, great matcha, cute cafe! Staff was courteous, polite and friendly. The server we had understood a good amount of English. Translation apps came in handy for the menu! Food arrived quickly. I ordered the Croissant Sandwiches and it was indeed, two croissant sandwiches. One was a creamy scramble style egg with a tangy mayo and the other was just bacon and ketchup. It was very different than other foods I’ve had but still good! The egg one was the better of the two. It comes with cabbage and tomato that was good with some vinaigrette from the table on it as a salad and a scoop of cold mashed potatoes. The matcha was phenomenal, rich, earthy and tasty. My husband had the curry and rice and enjoyed it. It was great, quick late morning meal to grab while exploring the temples near by!
