Yes, yes, and yes. I can't recommend you enough to apply for Genki JACS Nagoya! With such a caring staff, and so experienced teachers that leave no student behind - there simply isn't one negative thing I have to say about my experience as a graduate of the school. I applied for the 1 year course and studied at Genki JACS Nagoya from July 2022 to July 2023. Throughout the year, I took both N4 and N3 - and scored 180\180 in both of them, thanks to each and every one of my amazing teachers!
The classes are filled with fun and joy. The staff makes sure to wrap up all of your doubts regarding residing in a foreign country. The city? AWSOME! While you might be wondering what's so good about Nagoya or where it even is, living in Nagoya let's you get the best of both worlds. As a large regional capital, it is abundant with places to see, eat, travel and experience - but unlike the "Big Three" of Japan, that are Tokyo, Osaka and Kyoto - costs of living are not as high, and tourists are not as common. Nagoya is without a doubt an underrated gem!
It is also a great chance to meet locals authentically, and shop staff is way less likely to talk to you in English, which is perfect for the cause of practicing and mastering the basics of Japanese conversations!
Don't worry about anything but having the best time of your life. If you're in Genki JACS - you're...
Read moreI had a very, very positive experience! The procedures before starting the language course were super structured and whenever I had questions (and there were quite a few), they were answered in great detail and in an extremely friendly manner. I felt very well advised. This was also the case throughout the entire year that I spent in Nagoya. There was never a moment when I felt let down in any way. I had decided to live in my own apartment (booked via GenkiJACS) at the time, which certainly influenced my experience in one way or another. It wasn't my first longer stay in Japan either. That and the good organization gave me a lot of security (which is very important to me). Nagoya is also a great city to live in! It has everything you need – and more, while also being rather low-paced (= it was a really relaxed stay and it gave me the great opportunity to just „breathe through“ in the best way). I also felt well looked after at the school itself. The structure of the lessons made sense to me and worked for me because it suited my way of learning. So there was no point that would cause any discomfort. While being there, I found amazing friends, I fell in love with the country again, the teachers were amazing and it’ll always be a very fond memory ❤️ I would definitely do a language course with...
Read moreComing from a native English speaking country, Japanese was by far the hardest language I have studied. However, with how excellent the teachers and staff at GenkiJACS Nagoya, it made everything so much easier. From day one (even if you are nervous), everyone there is very supportive and is there to help you succeed. As for the location, it is about a 5 minute walk from Nagoya Station so commuting to school is extremely simple. For Nagoya and Aichi prefecture I fell in love with the region because of the rich history, neighboring mountains/wilderness, cuisine (Miso Katsu) and of course the people! If you are considering studying abroad in Japan whether you are a beginner or advanced in Japanese, GenkiJACS Nagoya is a...
