Kintetsu’s northmost terminus. From here you can go to Kuwana, Yokkaichi, Tsu, Ise, Toba, Osaka, Nara, and Kyoto etc. To go to Osaka and Tsu, I highly recommend taking the Hinotori train, especially the premium seat. It is cheaper and more luxurious than Shinkansen. Unlike Shinkansen, there are lockers (make sure you have an IC card like Suica) on the Hinotori train. The lockers can accommodate large check-in sized suitcases. For taking the regular express trains, usually, the first 4 cars (out of 6 cars) have forward facing seating for better viewing outside. There are multiple ways to enter the station. If you stay at the Marriott, the elevator to this station is right in front of the hotel entrance. The Piyorin store is also right by the elevator. When getting off the Kintetsu trains, the Shikansen/JR lines are North, in line with the Kintetsu trains, Meitetsu to the right, and other lines at the exit between these two (this central exit is also labelled Shikansen/JR/Meitetsu, but will take you through the shopping mall and lots of people). Getting off the Shinkansen and believe JR local lines, it is best to take the south exit, as this will take you through the transfer hall, which is more direct and less crowed. North exit will take you out to Nagoya station proper, ie with crowds and...
Read moreIf you are going from Nagoya to Osaka I think the Kintetsu Limited Express "Hinotori" is the best way to travel from “KintetsuNagoya” to “OsakaNanba”. It takes longer than the Shinkansen, but you will feel the quality of the time you spend on the train. The special seats are like first class seats in an airplane. I like to buy a bento box lunch and a few beers before boarding and enjoy them in the train. Although it takes longer, it is certainly a more comfortable train ride than the Shinkansen's green car at a lower fare than...
