Coworking space with super friendly staff and a cozy and casual atmosphere.
Would highly recommend this place to people who need a dedicated working space whilst travelling or living in Osaka. I had to come to Japan on short notice for a family matter and had a lot of work that I needed to. Unfortunately as a video editor, I have a large bulky laptop that prevents me from comortably working in a cafe or in my hotel room. So I looked up coworking spaces in Osaka and after doing a bit of research I decided "The deck" suited my needs.
The deck is great for a number of reasons. The staff are super friendly and speak very good english so you will have no issues communicating. Its a very casual and relaxing atmosphere so you can work here at your own pace. Lots of different types of desk setups for individuals or those in a small team. During the 2 weeks I was there it wasnt that busy so I could easily get a desk of my choice. Equipment: being able to borrow a monitor, chargers, keyboards or any other electronic peripheral is a super underrated value add. Having an extra monitor is a huge bonus particularly in my line of work. Accessibility: registration did not take long and once you are set up you can sign in and out easily with a travel card like Icoca. It is also located right next to a metro station (Hankyu line) or 10 min walk from Hommachi (great for Midosuji line). Other: there was a security guard on site on some of the days which made me feel at ease about leaving my setup for when I wanted to go for lunch or take a break outside. There is also a drinks machine and coffee machine which is all included in the daily fee. Cost is very reasonable. Compared to other places. I heard and saw there were many networking events which I did not actually get to attend myself but I could see how important that could be for those who want to grow their business or want to meet new...
Read moreA wonderful environment. I absolutely loved working here! The atmosphere is just perfect. I got a TON of work done, but I also got to meet really welcoming and supportive people.
Tomoe was the first person I talked to and she helped me get set up. She showed me which coffee machine was her favourite, and she even brought me a couple of snacks when I was working. The owner Tomo took us out for a Christmas/end of year Sake party last night and we had a great time.
The Deck is pretty well equipped. I often get pain in my wrists when I work long hours, but I spotted an ergonomic mouse that I used the whole time I was there, and it was a life saver. They've also got extra monitors you can just take to your table.
All in all, I found the Deck to be the perfect place to meet interesting people and a fantastic space to focus and get work done. I highly recommend to anyone looking for a relaxed yet productive workspace! I'll see you guys again next time I'm in Osaka. Maybe next time, I'll use the maker space and 3D print something.
Cheers guys, have...
Read more¡Super recomendado!
Highly recommended (for digital nomads)! In theory, there is a minimum of 3 months to become a member, but we spoke directly with Tomo-san, the CEO, and he let us sign up for only one month (the time we were going to stay in Osaka); thus paying this month plus the registration fee. Their closing time is 6PM, however, if you are a member, you can stay until 10PM. Tomo-san, Fumi-san and the rest of the staff are very friendly, always willing to help, and keen to introduce the members to each other, they make us feel comfortable, plus they also organized a super cute and thoughtful picnic to celebrate the hanami :D As soon as we joined, Tomo-san showed us around the coworking and explained everything —they even have a "creative" space (FAB LAB) where designers (and other members) can create and print their 3D designs and others. About the coworking space itself, mention that the chairs are surprisingly comfortable, the tables are quite separated from each other so it feels spacious, they have individual booths for online meetings (some are sound-proof), sockets (Japanese type aka type-A) on each table, and cables if necessary. And, best of all, they have screens available for anyone to use. In the space there is a small fridge and microwave. Also note that they have a selection of teas and coffee (included, which members can help themselves to), and there is always a hot Twinings tea ready. Thank you very much for this month :) I hope to...
