I spent four nights at the Granbell Hotel Osaka, and here is my complete review.||The reception is located on the third floor, which also serves as the amenities area. The reception staff were cooperative and did their best to make the check-in process smooth. The hotel offers an amenities buffet with face cleansers, hair cleansers, dental kits, shaving kits, small towels, hair bands, and more, all accessible for guests as needed. There is also a complimentary water, tea, and coffee station at the reception available to all residents.||The rooms, however, were somewhat congested. We were two people with three bags and could not open more than one at a time. There is no wardrobe for clothes or shoes, only a few hangers on a rod near the main door. The dining table is small, and the chairs provided felt more suited for children.||That said, the bed and bathroom made up for the lack of space. The bed was very comfortable, and the pillows were exceptionally relaxing. The toilet was the modern Japanese style with multiple functions, and the shower had a reliable supply of both hot and cold water to suit your needs.||Breakfast was mostly bread and Japanese-style dishes. There was a selection of breads, buns, and baguettes, accompanied by cheese and other Japanese items. Surprisingly, no fruits were offered, but there were fresh juices and a variety of teas available.||In terms of location, the hotel is about a 10-minute walk from Hommachi Metro Station. Some entrances are closer, around five minutes away, but these close after 7 p.m., so the walking distance can vary depending on the time of day.||Just one more point, they housekeeping is scheduled every two days. They give fresh towels everyday but room cleaning will be done alternate days. ||Overall, the stay would have been much more comfortable with a bit more space in the room, but the amenities, service, and location made it a decent choice for a short...

Read moreWe decided to book this hotel even though the price was higher and the room smaller than others, because the reviews said the hotel allows guests to leave their luggage after check-out. However, when we arrived, we saw a notice in the elevator stating that due to the Osaka Expo period, the hotel now charges 1,000 yen per bag for storage. This is ridiculous — if there’s such a condition, shouldn’t it be clearly stated on the website in advance?
In addition, the attitude and tone of the staff when answering our questions were very poor. We stayed for three nights, and almost all the staff we encountered had the same unwelcoming attitude — it felt like they didn’t want to provide service at all.
On the first day, we arrived for check-in at 3:40 PM (check-in time was from 3:00 PM). There were no other guests waiting, but three staff members were chatting loudly behind the counter. We chose to use the self check-in kiosk, but when we had a question and approached the staff, we were met with an annoyed expression.
The only staff member who was polite and helpful was an older gentleman. Although his English wasn’t very fluent, he tried his best to assist us — which was in stark contrast to...
