STAY AT OSAKA SHINSAIBASHI east is an absolutely great place. It is clean, somewhat spacious and really nice, especially if you get a view.
Here's what I loved about the place:
Nice and clean Loved the view Decent sized bathroom with amenities A small kitchen (with utensils and plates provided) The nice complementary slippers Elevator Simple enough, self explanatory self- check-in Washer and dryer
Now, here's what I didn't like:
Location - this place is nice and quiet, but it's also quite a bit of a distance from the closest stations, depending on which stations you plan on taking. Elevator - yes, I said that the elevator was a plus, but it's also a con, considering it's one (small elevator) for 15 floors of guests; my party, as well as probably others, were late to checkout because everyone in the hotel was trying to leave the same day we were, so the elevator stopped on every single floor. Washer and dryer - another one I put on the pros list, however, there are only 4, so you're stuck with waiting hours at a time to clean your laundry. My party had trouble with this, not to mention, someone forgot their laundry and left it in the machine for the entirety of our stay.
With all that being said, I think I would stay here again. The host was kind and understanding (we booked...
Read moreI loved the venue. Quiet, clean and efficient. My only criticism is that the electronic door locks had a problem and I got locked in my room for an hour. I was somewhat scared. If there was an emergency, I wasn't sure I'd be able to exit. It took about an hour to get someone to me and unlock it from the outside. I don't know exactly what happened except maybe the physical lock and the new electronic lock got a little out of sync. That said, everyone I dealt with including AirBnB was kind and helped me as soon as they could. I'd definitely stay here again -- but I'm not convinced these electronic locks are safe from the inside. Having to have a hand-print to exit my room doesn't seem fundamentally safe and I can imaging if a child had been playing with the lock, the problem I had could be repeated. But in an emergency, I simply don't want to be someplace where I have to rely on electronics to give me permission to exit. Overall, the risk is small but I was genuinely fearful and was disappointed that no one could help me more quickly -- and if this is a problem other people have had with these locks, then I question whether they are truly safe for people of getting out (they seem great on the outside for keeping me safe from...
Read moreI’m echoing the same experience as D. Yong. When we checked in at about 9pm, there were 5 groups waiting to check in but only 3 tablets were available. Everyone was shouting, trying to over-talk each other making conversation over the device inaudible; some had language issues; and there was added pressure from people waiting in line. The check in process was arduous as everything was manual and self service. The room itself was spacious, we were able to open 2 large luggages with ease. However, the AC was unstable, switching off in the middle of the night. I like their bathroom though which had separation between the toilet and dual use bath/shower. I reckon rating of about 3.5 stars is more appropriate for this accommodation, certainly not 4.0 when I made...
