Tsuruhashi Station — Local services in Osaka

This is shame for a nation as advanced as Japan to have such a death trap like this station. In case of emergency, there is no way for unfamiliar visitors or visitors who don't speak Japanese to quickly identify exits to get out of the building.

This station looks like it was changed/added in different times so the only way to exit to the ground floor from the 3rd floor (highest floor) are either through an un-signed elevator or a partly hidden stair in the middle of an unrelated boarding platform. There is no signs in Japanese or English I or my google translate can detect and I saw tourists like me all trying to find there headings. Overpaid from JR station and the machine took away my ticket to Nara. Used the receipt to find staff. First two willing to help (one guy with translator machine was nice) but let me talk to the other JR station guy after my explaination, but the second staff from JR looked like I was bring trouble to him and ordered me to repurchase.

Don't ever over pay a ticket since there is no way it would return. This was my 5 dollar lesson in Osaka and my 2 cents to you,hah!

Osaka did have good people but I really do not want to see that JR guy again.

The largest Koreatown in Japan with the several high-class authentic Korean BBQ restaurants. Make sure to step out of your comfort zone and explore the little side streets that host so much things to see. I even met an old Korean lady that were making fresh Kimchi in front of her houseyard and got some free samples!

Unfortunately the area around the station became quite commercial and seemed to have lost some of the old flair that used to be preserved before. Nevertheless highly recommend this place for every...
