Ario Sapporo — Local services in Sapporo

Slightly dated vibe for a Japan mall but very decent environment. Most shops are apparel, many shop for maternity, kids, Toys R US but many shops for general apparel. 100 yen shop with plenty of useful and useless stuff to buy. Decent food court with Mcdonalds, ramen, tempura, grilled steak, ice cream. Very clean, bathrooms I've seen cleaner by Japanese standards but still waaaaaay cleaner than any American mall bathrooms. LARGE supermarket on bottom floor which was the highlight of my visit. I'd go just for the supermarket again, all kinds of stuff. Also a bakery with extremely fresh breads and pastries and sandwich snacks. You can get here by train, get off at Naebo station, and follow the walkway leading to the entrance to Toys R Us. Ario Sapporo is an enclosed, medium-scale mall located right behind the Sapporo Beer Museum.

Of course the majority of the tenants were unknown to me, sans for a few American brands like KFC, McD's and BR31. The Uniqlo was small and sad. Dining options were okay, nothing like what you'd find in the train stations and department stores.

I did see one name that made me look twice, Tower Records! It's been ages since I last stepped foot into one. The American section of CD's were really old titles such as Madonna's and Kylie Minogue's first albums. I'm still shocked this store can survive in 2024.

Ario Sapporo is a group of various shops. You can get many things to buy here from a MacDonald to a children item store Akanchan Honpo. There is even a Uniqlo shop that sells cheap Western size clothes. There are however many restaurants and fast food joints. You can also find shops for the major telecommunication companies in Japan like Softbank, Docomo where you can sign in to phone and internet contracts and get new models of iPhones, tabs and samsungs. Ario is big and you will find the place amusing. Plus it is close to the Sapporo beer museum which is one of the best tourist attraction...
