I visited Mermaid Coffee Roasters during my trip and was thoroughly impressed! It’s a cozy, stylish café with a great atmosphere — perfect for relaxing and enjoying a high-quality coffee.
The coffee here is excellent. I ordered an iced coffee and was amazed by its deep, rich flavor. You can tell they really know their beans and roasting — every sip was smooth, with wonderful depth and balance. One of the best coffees I had during my stay.
I also tried their matcha latte, and it was truly outstanding. The texture was very thick and creamy, and the matcha flavor was both strong and smooth, with just the right level of sweetness. Highly recommended if you enjoy matcha!
For food, I ordered the cheese toast, and it was absolutely delicious — thick, crispy bread topped with plenty of melted cheese and perfectly toasted. It paired wonderfully with the coffee. I also had their butter toast, which was simple but very tasty, with a nice pat of butter melting into the warm bread.
A nice touch: both toast plates came with a perfectly boiled egg, adding a little extra to the meal. It made the experience feel even more complete.
Overall, Mermaid Coffee Roasters is a fantastic spot for both great coffee and delicious light food. Whether you’re stopping in for a quick break or want to enjoy a relaxing coffee moment, this place delivers on both taste and atmosphere. I’ll definitely be coming back next time I’m...
Read moreI stopped by this coffee shop in Sapporo and it was such a great experience. The first thing that stood out was the interior — very intentional, warm, and full of character. From the dried floral arrangements hanging from the ceiling to the little bear figurines and even a small shrine display, every corner felt unique and inviting.
I ordered their iced lemon coffee, which I found really refreshing and surprisingly good. It had the perfect balance of citrus and coffee — something different that I’ll definitely come back for. I paired it with a slice of carrot cake, which was moist, flavorful, and a great match for the drink.
The staff made the visit even better. I was greeted right away by a friendly gentleman who guided me to the counter to order, and throughout my stay the team was welcoming and attentive. One detail I’ve always loved about Japan is how staff escort and wave customers out when they leave — this café was no exception, and it really added to the experience.
I noticed there’s a second floor that I didn’t get to explore this time, so I’ll make sure to check it out on my next visit. Overall, this spot is a mix of great coffee, thoughtful design, and genuinely kind staff. Highly recommended if...
Read moreThe place is super worth visiting and has a coffee with their good cookies. The staff is very friendly and nice to be served by. We entered the place and walked out to realise that there was no space available. One of the staff came out to signal us that there are space available at level 2 seating area. We ordered their cookies and lemon scone to grab the seat upstairs. Need to take off shoes proper going up the stairs. They have nice floor seating on one side and some tables on the other. There is one universal toilet there too. The coffee was good and butter toast was nice. Wish they could serve the order together with the coffee as my coffee requested for extra hot also became cold by the time toast was served. The cookies were finished before the coffee was served 😆. Then to queue to order more cookies time coffee was served which also became cold 😆. So order everything once with water if you wish to enjoy them together. However the place was super cosy and food was amazing with great coffee and worth visiting. Highly recommend to try it once if you are in Sapporo. Accordingly to me “a must do...
