This store is the biggest store in Ochanomizu but after seeing 3.5 star review I had to comment.
1st experience of this store, a shop clerk said loudly 'just get out already' as it was near closing time and he probably assumed a foreigner cannot speak Japanese.
2nd time I took my Takamine ef341sc which is a 1000pounds guitar to the store to see if they could fix rattling around the preamp area. The clerk wearing an apron and looking like a technician told me it can't be fixed and no other store could fix it and then went back to helping two young girls trying out some cheap acoustics. I took the guitar to another store and they were able to fix the problem for just 2000 yen and it took them maybe 1 hour. They removed the preamp and its pieces, oiled them up and put them back in.
3rd time I bought an electric guitar that sounded pretty good in the store. I'm not an electric guitar expert. Like a previous reviewer mentioned the store is noisy. There was some minor finish flaw around the neck but I thought its OK. I got home and I could hear unplugged a sitar sound from the g and high e strings so I took the guitar back. They leveled the frets and told me the neck is straight. The guitar also got a new ding on the back after this time. Very minor. The next time I took the guitar back they told me to fix the problem would cost 10,000 yen and take one week. Which is usually what a store says when they send back to the factory. Apparantly the neck was not straight and twisted causing the problem.
I took the guitar to another shop with english speaking staff where I had bought a guitar before and they offered to fix the problem in 3 days for free. They told me the neck was actually very very bad.
Disappointed but grateful to the...
Read moreSo it seems a lot of people have had mixed reviews here, however for me this place was absolutely amazing. I want to start by saying I am very obviously a foreigner and I speak absolutely no Japanese however both times I went into the store the staff were amazing. The first time I went in I looked around specifically looking at the esp models as this is the best shop for them, the staff were very encouraging for me to test them out and to try them. The second time I went in (the next day) after visiting a few other guitar shops around Tokyo I decided I wanted to buy a very expensive esp from them and the young man that served me was amazing he told me how to get everything tax free and how to set the guitar up and then he packed the guitar up so well it survived the trip all the way back to the UK. That's all I have to say about these guys, they...
Read moreCame in here looking for a hard case. I approached one of the staff (the one with the blonde hair), who was just standing in the corner and talking with someone. While I was explaining what I was looking for he cut me off and said "Yeah yeah I know" and showed me the hard cases which were at the back entrance of the store. While I was about to show him the picture of my guitar he hurriedly went back inside the store and just said "Yeah okay". He did not even assist me on choosing which one I would like to buy as the hard cases were tied to the cart. I went back inside and saw him just talking to one of the staff. I am not going back to this store again.
I just went to the store across the street and the staff there was very helpful and that is where I ended up buying my...
