All experience at this Donki was great until after we paid and we started bagging our stuff. Me and my significant other were buying “omiyage” worth ¥33,000. Anyway, we’ve never had bad customer experience in Japan at all, but this one was the first at this specific Donki location. After check out and paying for our things, we couldn’t find a place to “bag”our stuff because the staff at most Donki don’t bag our things, so we went to the farthest cashier area that was closed, no people, with an open table and started bagging our things there as quickly as possible so we don’t disturb anybody. Then there was a grumpy cashier that came up to us and started scolding us really loud, basically making a scene—I understood a little bit of what she was saying since I speak a little bit of Japanese, and she was not happy. She also slammed the empty shopping basket in front of us basically telling us don’t bag at that area, giving us really bad attitude. We apologized in Japanese (gomennasai) a few times, bowed, and tried to be as nice as possible since we’re foreigners.
