Haneda Airport Terminal 1 Station — Local services in Tokyo

We had a really upsetting experience with a Tokyo Monorail staff member at Haneda Airport (Domestic Terminal) on October 6 around 8:35 PM. My partner and I accidentally went through the wrong gate and tried to exit back through it, not realizing we couldn’t do that. The staff member who should have been at the help desk wasn’t there — he was on his phone, hidden away from the counter. When he eventually came out, he immediately started yelling at us repeatedly, speaking in a very rude and aggressive way. Even though we kept apologising and trying to explain that we didn’t know, he refused to listen or answer any questions. He then snatched my partner’s iPhone (with her IC card) out of her hand and slammed it down on his workstation. It was completely unnecessary and intimidating. We were shocked and very uncomfortable. Mistakes happen, especially for visitors who aren’t familiar with the system, but there’s no excuse for treating people like that. Haneda Airport and Tokyo Monorail usually have great staff and service, so this experience was really disappointing. I hope management looks into it and improves...

When heading towards Hamamatsucho, it is not the starting station, so you may not be able to sit on the airport rapid train. The difference is only a few minutes, so we recommend going to Hamamatsucho on a regular train that you can sit down.
