Seared Highland Pork "Nikuzen" Lunch 🐖🍚🥣@hitoshinaya.haneda (Asagohan)
One of my friends had come to visit Tokyo so l went to see them off at Haneda Airport Terminal 1. As a final meal together we decided to try this stylish washoku restaurant called Hitoshinaya. 🇯🇵
Hitoshinaya is uniquely designed, dividing the space into 3 separate dining areas with individual entrances & menus. The 3 choices are: "Breakfast" "Chirashi sushi" or ""Soba". 🍚🍱🍜
The interior of "Breakfast" is neat and tidy, with a wooden counter surrounding a central kitchen.
While the quality of the food is good, what is most surprising is the efficiency & speed of turnaround, meaning that you won't have long to wait for a table to become available. Having said this, the environment is calm, with relaxing music and highly attentive & friendly service. 👩🏻🍳
The cold dashi that comes out at the beginning is a great appetizer, rich & full of umami. 🥰
As part of a set menu, the seared pork was very tender and tasty on its own, but the bean paste which came on the side as a sauce made it even better. 🐖😋
The pork is also served with seasonal vegetables, tofu soaked in dashi broth, spinach, stewed pumpkin, 3 types of pickle, and a heavenly white miso soup. 🥣
Aside from the pork, the other highlight for me was the pot-cooked rice (koshihikari coming from Tako in Chiba prefecture), amazing taste and fluffy but with just the right amount of chewy consistency. 🍚
Compared to other teishoku meals, it's probably a little overpriced due to the location but overall it's a great meal and one of the best restaurants in Haneda airport. 👌🏼
⚠️Please note that opening hours are currently restricted (06:00-15:00 for "Asagohan") so check the Haneda Airport offical homepage for latest details to avoid disappointment.⚠️

Read moreThis place is a hidden gem in Terminal 2, next to gate 72. Have you ever tried Wagyu beef? Wow! This is a great way to get an introduction to this delicacy of Japan. If you’re going to eat in the airport, you won’t go wrong ordering from this restaurant. Only 3 items on the menu, but that’s all you need. I ordered the Rice Bowl topped with Wagyu Beef and Egg. The platter comes with Miso soup and pickled ginger, too! Very quick service as well. Wish I was coming back soon to try the other dishes. Hitoshinaya hit a grand slam home run. I just had to give it a rating before I got on my flight. I would bring this dish home for my family to try, but it won’t make it there. 😃 Let me know what you think if...

The dashi drink (free, served along with cold delicious water) will make your stomach ready for this subtle yet flavorful small plates. Oh even for me a Japanese, this is one of the best unforgettable foods.
Wish they have another place in T3. After long flight without deep comfy sleep, or before the flight back to your home, their gentle and tasty food will make your trip in Japan very relaxing and memorable.
