Confusing pathways; entered through one exit (using the card) to walk towards nambu line only to be told at the ticket machine (i wasn't expecting to be there) that i have to go all the way back because i cannot enter with my card. There was no other way to enter there except through the ticket machine even though there's a pathway available all the way to that station once you have tapped your card from another exit.
Fare adjusment machines may be not working sometimes (today, one by exit 7, which is on the other side from other exits, isn't working and I couldn't find the ticket staff).
The paths to walk on also has lots of stairs (often designed as having to go through stair then escalator then stair again) with lots of entryways to go through with a long walk.
Ticket staff at Nambu line also has the characteristic つめたい東京人 attitude.

The only good thing is the view. As for the layout of the place and the helpfulness of the staff, it's overall not convenient especially when...
Read moreIchigaya Station is a convenient and well-connected station in Tokyo. It serves multiple lines (JR Chuo Line, Tokyo Metro Yurakucho Line, Namboku Line, and Toei Shinjuku Line), making it easy to access many parts of the city. The station itself is clean and generally easy to navigate, though like many Tokyo stations, it can get quite busy during rush hour. There are plenty of exits leading to various government buildings, universities, and the outer moats of the Imperial Palace, which offer a nice walk. Overall, a solid and efficient...
Read moreThis review goes to one of the station staff in particular, a young man. Never got his name but he was immensely helpful and patient. He explained everything we needed in as good a English as he could muster which was better than my restricted, basic and broken Japanese (Google translate isn't quite there yet it seems). I wish there was a way I could tell him how he effectively saved the Tokyo leg of my honeymoon and save my wife and I from what would've been a very colourful argument.
To the young man, know you'll be...
