Family of 4 stayed 8 nights and had 2 x twin rooms booked. Room size was to be expected for a room in Japan (quite small).
The area is in a business type district so during peak season not crowded on the streets
Pros Although staff don’t speak English well, they were polite, friendly and helpful There was a notice about building works around the area, we didn’t hear anything from our rooms, was pretty quiet overall Even though rooms are quite small, the beds are raised so you’re able to put your luggage underneath 711 (24/7) and Family Mart (closes around 10pm) walking distance from the hotel Close to Hanzomon train line, pretty much across the street and walk underground, you can top up IC cards but there is no ticket machine to buy day passes. To get to most other touristy places you normally have to catch 2-3 train lines They have 1 x microwave located off to the lobby. You can use this to heat up meals, so if you don’t want to eat you meal from the 711 / Family Mart straight away, you can heat it up later Free additional water in the lobby (glass bottles) but if your room is cleaner they provide 2 x bottles Free Wifi in the rooms, speed was decent
Cons Cleaning of rooms could use more attention (Friendly staff though). Our rooms hadn’t been vacuumed properly when we checked in, large amounts of dust under the beds and behind main door and along that wall Not sure if it’s water savings or covid prevention but if you ask for your room to be cleaned, they’ll make your bed but the sheets aren’t changed, towels and bins were emptied and bathroom consumables topped up No English channels were available on TV, so we downloaded from our Netflix account and watched on our own devices Not a lot of food variety closeby, if you’re looking for somewhere for lunch or dinner you have to walk further up the road, Approx 15-20mins Fridge is quite small, so you can only store a few things at a time
This could be a pro or con depending on your preference for pillows and beds, but the mattress is very firm (which was good for my back), pillow is also quite firm and thin (no additional spare blankets or pillows in the room).
Overall we would consider...
Read moreIt's a solid hotel with spacious rooms, compared to other hotels in this budget range in Tokyo.
Positive: The beds are comfortable, but firm and provide two pillow types (firm and soft). You also receive a set of Pyjamas and some bathroom amenities like a toothbrush, hairbrush, cotton sponge etc.
The bathroom has a tub, so you can take your own bath in the room and just relax with more privacy, which is a good tradeoff.
The location of the hotel is right across the subway station and very close to Shibuya, Roppongi or the Airport - for me the perfect spot. Also it's in a safe and quiet neighborhood, which ensures a goodnight sleep, after a long day. The room cleaning occurs every two days, since this is more eco-friendly, unless you request for cleaning every day.
What needs to be improved for a five star rating:
Hygiene The beds can be moved easily (they are on wheels) and I recommend vacuuming under them on the head side (every quarter or so), since there was a lot of dust and hairs gathered on that side, which can cause issues for people with dust allergies.
Entertainment The TVs in the room are all in Hotel-Mode, meaning you can either watch local TV channels or pay for on demand video. This is very old-fashioned and it would be better to just allow HDMI and other Casting-Options for the guests.
Noteworthy:
The hotel does not have any Japanese bath, swimming pool, hot tub or gym, but bathrooms have their own tub.
The breakfast seems a bit overpriced (3100JPY), so I didn't try it - after all you are in Tokyo and will definitely find food. A supermarket as well as convenient stores are right...
Read moreThis hotel is very close to Hanzomon subway station(across the road), although Hanzomon line doesn't pass many big tourist attraction stations, last and previous of this station can do transit easily. Tourist subway pass can be purchased at hotel reception if you stay here.
I stayed ten days in a single room, room is spacious, comfortable bed and clean bathroom facilities. Room's air condition control can only adjust temperature not the mode. Also a Panasonic hairdryer, humidifier, and a free Handy mobile phone with unlimited international/local calls and internet for you to carry around. However, my room couldn't connect to my owned internet signal, and the hotel wifi is very weak also.
This hotel locates at a quiet neighborhood, weekend nights around 9pm won't see many people walk on the street, but during weekdays is okay. There is a family mart and 7-11 close by, few restaurants within two blocks.
Overall reception staffed were polite, as a single female traveler I felt safe, location isn't the most convenient but during cherry blossom season can go to the famous spot within 10 minutes walk that's a big plus. I might stay here again if...
