spring 2023 - green french, flowers, cat eye I had a great time getting my nails done here! Emily is super sweet and was easy to communicate with even before my appointment. I requested a specific design and she worked with me to get all the details to my liking. During my appointment, Emily was very considerate and in tune with my experience, explaining the process along the way and making sure to check in with me on how I felt about the design as she worked. She was very detail oriented and you can tell she cares about her work. I love how my nails turned out ☺️ thanks again Emily!

fall 2024 - bee & puppycat characters I went back a second time with a more complicated character design and Emily did an amazing job! I came in with a busy mock up and she was great at working with me to translate it into a design on my nails; while doing my nails she would add a layer to build the design on a nail and move to the next, rotating through each of my nails and returning to the start to continue adding the next layer to build the design, and this was with a unique design for each nail. Incredible workmanship on her part! Really gotta give her kudos for efficiency, attention to detail, planning, and keeping everything organized especially given the low fidelity draft I came in with. Retention was great as well considering I didn't really take care of my nails that well; I wasn't careless with them but I was using them as tools from time to time, and I wasn't often moisturizing or applying nail oil. They lasted 6.5 weeks before I experienced any lifting, and all my nails on one hand were in tact up to 8.5 weeks before there was lifting on that hand. Probably not recommended to keep them so long, but I wanted to see how long they could last.

emily is professional and personable. the whole visit felt comfy; just good vibes all around. clean work areas, cute personal touches. i’d been in japan for a month at the time of meeting her and it was personally so refreshing to be able to hold an entire conversation in english. i was also a little lonely / socially deprived and wound up talking her ear off, but she was gracious about it.

i had wanted to do my nails as a birthday treat but, as a native english speaker, not knowing japanese was a small block in finding salons and being confident about making an appointment. this salon was mentioned on reddit a few different times, highlighting her fluency in english, as well as quality of work.

before making the appointment, i had a jumble of different ideas i wanted to to. i’m indecisive and i liked so much of her work; i didn’t know how to choose. she helped me narrow down what i actually wanted, as well as a color choice and style.

unfortunately, i don’t have the best footage of my nails; i don’t think my phone camera does them justice anyway. i also did not realize the nails would last as long as they would. i don’t get my nails done too often; maybe once or twice a year. every other gel manicure i’ve gotten has chipped around week 2-3, so that’s what i expected. i rock climbed, entered the ocean, went to the gym regularly, hiked, ripped open packages, etc - only one nail ever started to peel off, starting around 2.5 months after the appointment. idk what magic this is, but that was a great bonus for me.
