We stayed at this property on November 28th with four young children. Our accommodation was the “Maisonette,” a spacious two-story unit. The pricing was reasonable, and its proximity to the JR station was a significant advantage.
However, it is important to note that this is not a traditional hotel but more akin to an Airbnb-style rental. The entire building has been converted into rental units, and there is no front desk or on-site staff. As a result, assistance is not readily available when needed.
While the beds were comfortable, the living room couch was in extremely poor condition. The springs were completely broken, making it nearly unusable as sitting on it caused discomfort due to the exposed frame.
The most concerning issue, however, was a severe cockroach infestation. On the final night of our stay, we discovered a large cockroach in the bedroom, which caused significant distress for our children. When we contacted the property management for assistance, they informed us that no help would be available until the following morning. Instead of offering immediate support, they suggested that we purchase cockroach traps from a nearby store and place them ourselves. This meant spending part of our family vacation addressing a problem that should have been handled by the property management.
While setting the traps, we discovered trash left by previous guests under the bed, highlighting a serious cleanliness issue in areas not immediately visible. Upon returning home, we had to thoroughly disinfect our belongings to ensure we did not bring any pests back with us—an unnecessary hassle that added to our frustration. Despite reporting these issues, the property management offered no compensation or meaningful resolution, simply stating there was nothing they could do.
If you are visiting Japan for vacation, I strongly recommend staying in an actual hotel where professional staff can provide assistance...
Read moreGreatly appreciated the convenience of the location near to a local subway station, grocery store, Don Quijote, And other convenient locations.
Was very quiet during our stay. Accommodations were very snug so as a party of four, one adult and 3 teenage children, consider whether your dynamic is very peaceful and what your space needs are after long travel days otherwise it might not be enough space. Our group was very comfortable and we get along well so it worked out perfectly for us.
Appreciated the laundry access and stable WiFi.
Room was clean and we greatly enjoyed our time. All access codes were provided before check-in and we were able to get in with no problems.
After checking out and traveling to Kyoto, One of our party noticed they were missing an earbud. Hosts were extremely helpful and upon locating the missing items provided great communication and made arrangements so we could come and pick it up!

Read moreWe were happily surprised with our accommodations! It was in a great location, just a 10 min walk from Kamata Station and a 5 min walk from a smaller station. Lots of little places to eat and a major shopping area just a 20 min walk. There's a 7-11 a few feet away for food and money exchange.
The room was cozy with a loft and a nice bathroom. There is a washer with detergent you can use, along with dishes and utensils, a little fridge, and a microwave. The management was very responsive to questions. You don't actually meet anyone to check in, you are sent a door code and a room code. Seriously a great room and is stay here again if I'm...
