These establishments have guards and cameras, however it is all for show. Security theatre at its finest. My bag got stolen here last night, and when asking for assistance they didn’t want to help. Only when the police came did they want to assist, but by then the person had already run away from the place with my bag.

The cameras and staff are not there to keep you safe nor to help you in case anything happens, the cameras and staff are there to make you FEEL safe. A vastly different thing. I cannot recommend any of these establishments for the reason that it is a rip-off, and strictly unsafe. There are tons of ways to solve this, but I would definitely recommend choke-points/bottle necks by every enterance or exit where each individual who enters have to show their face to a camera before entering or exiting. At least that would be feasible, and it would deter thiefs from coming to these places.

Keep in mind, we talked to a local frequent visitor who also commented that the day prior another guest got their bag stolen and that the staff did nothing that time either. It is a pattern. It happened the day before to another guest, and then it happened to me. Of course a thief would target places like this when they know that nobody will ever catch them.

Taito Station in Yokohama Nishiguchi Gobangai in Kanagawa. Amazing video arcade out in Yokohama, not only it is one of the biggest but also it is well planned. The first floor has all the claw machines while the second floor has the slot machines. It also has charging stations you can rent if you’re out of battery. Clean, airy, very nice staff.
