Brewery — Local services in Astana

One of the worst dining out experiences in Astana, and I say this after eating out in more than 30 spots around town, possibly more. If the atmosphere was not at least somewhat decent, I would have gone for a one star, which is like an extremely rare occurrence for me since I actually do a lot of research before visiting any establishment. Apparently, I failed this time.

First of all, none of the foods came up well. None. There were five of us, all five people did not like the dishes. I had a salad with tuna (only five small pieces) and baby potatoes, supposedly, well, just look at the photo below, and then check out the description of the dish, and its photo on their online menu. Where are the baby potatoes (those are potato croquettes on the photo, likely frozen ones)? What happened to that white sauce that could have saved the salad from being too dry? What happened to the runny egg yolks? Why was everything cold, including the eggs? I can go on. But I should not. A friend's steak was salty, and the sauce was saltier, somehow. They changed it, it was salty again. She got a dessert, and it was not great. The shahlik of another friend was so bad he did not finish it. The fries were on the colder side apparently for yet another friend.

The only good thing I got was the weissbeer, but it was only alright. Besides, there is no way that was really 0.5L. It felt and looked more like 0.4L at best...

Some of the staff really did not seem to want to be there, which also did not enhance the experience.

After thinking this through, this was literally the worst dining out experience in Astana, so yeah, there you go. I should probably stop experimenting and stick to tested and proper few restaurants and...

Four CBs are in the menu but York (lager), Zvikova (pilsner) and Kloster (porter) are brewed there and available. Relatively high ALC, 11.3%-12.7%. Large choice of drinks and foods so convenient for groups with non-CB lovers. Reasonably priced and huge space with live band facilities. Entrance is a little bit tricky...

Very nice Grill Restaurant. The food was excellent, the beer was self made and good (but the name is confusing: the Pils wasn’t a Pils, it is more like a Helles or Bock Beer…the Klosterbräu isn’t a Klosterbräu, it is more like a Dark Beer. There war Life music in the end and the atmosphere was...
