Genuinely impressed with the quality of this snorkeling tour. I have snorkeled and dived in multiple countries and usually when I'm in Cozumel just dive... But traveling with my partner so tried to find a snorkel tour for people who actually snorkel and are comfortable in the ocean, instead of just a cattle boat for cruise ship passengers. I lucked out with this company. Alberto was super quick to respond to all questions and very accommodating, met us at the entrance to Marina Fonatur. Maria, from Chile was a perfect dive/snorkel guide, knowledgeable, attentive and just phenomenal customer service skills. David the captain was helpful and friendly. My SO had not snorkeled since middle school and felt supported and looked after, and I got a chance to free dive a bit while doing a drift tour of the reef so both very happy.
There are multiple companies that do the 3 reef tour with a snack and have similar prices, what set mystic snorkeling apart is they are genuinely interested in the snorkeling and time on the ocean, not just a drinking tour by slow boat before 15 minutes of snorkeling. They run fast, smaller boats, the day we went it was just the two of us, but they are set up like a 6-pack dive boat, uncrowded, attentive, and professional. Overall, quick ride to the reefs, great crew, great snorkeling, strong recommend! Saw a pair of eagle rays, turtles, huge amberjack and a plethora of the usual...
Read moreWhat a lovely day on the water with our guide Maria and Captain LuĂz! We arrived 20 minutes late(ferry) and they were patiently waiting for us. My girlfriend and I were the only passengers on the boat, which led to a very personal experience. Unlike many other snorkel tour "party boats", we were able to have a much more intimate experience with the ocean. While some tours cost a few dollars less, I found this tour more than worth the small extra expense. We set out for our 4 hour tour and quickly fell into great conversation with Maria, who is very knowledgeable and friendly. We spent about an hour at the first reef(I forget the name) and saw many beautiful coral formations and colorful fish, including a large stingray. Then off to an area with many sea stars and more rays. Again, the other boats around us were blasting music and partying hard- great for the club, but not what we came here for. Then a long break at El Cielo in crystal clear shallow turquoise waters with many rays, a shot of tequila, fresh fruits, and more great conversation. After relaxing, we visited Palancar reef with it's tall coral towers and deep drop-offs. All in all, it was a wonderful day in the water with beautiful underwater scenery and marine life. I wouldn't hesitate to book another tour with Maria and Mystik Snorkel Tours. Muchas gracias,...
Read moreWorth every penny! Would return for sure! When looking for a snorkel guide during our day trip to Cozumel we did a lot of research on Google and reading reviews. Mystic Snorkel had 5 stars and we booked with them a day before, which was simple and hassle free. We took the ferry from Playa del Carmen and had to take a short taxi drive to the marina. Once there we met our guide Maria, we lucked out and were the only couple that showed up! However Mystic takes out smaller groups which is a bonus. The boat had a sun shade, they serve fresh fruit, cake, pop, beers and tequila at our last stop. Maria and our El capitån were amazing! Both were respectful of the wild life and clearly knowledgeable on the waters and the sea creatures. Maria was incredible and knew where certain sea creatures might be and how to interact with them not to scare them away. We were lucky enough to see two sharks, eagle rays, sting rays, and two turtles not counting all the amazing fish and coral reefs. Maria answered all of our questions as well. It was 100% worth a few more dollars for this experience! Maria also took some videos and photos of us, we brought our own Go Pro and there was no pressure to purchase pictures but we wanted to! Couldn't recommend them more! Thank you for such an...
