This museum is a great opportunity to firm up your knowledge of early Mexican statehood and the role that Juarez played. I particularly enjoyed the room to the left of the entry with the extraordinary wood cuts from the time. While the furnishings of this home are not original, you have a really good idea of how people lived in the city of Oaxaca during this time. The home is beautifully restored and well cared for; the courtyard is beautiful. The signage is in Spanish, but with some work you can understand the basic ideas even if your language skills are a bit rusty.

The house of Benito Juarez is a must see for history buffs. It is quaint and you could easily be in and out in 30ish minutes. It’s small and not as stunning as other historical places in Oaxaca and Puebla but very informative and I feel it’s a fundamental piece of history for all Mexicans. There is no fee for Mexican nationals on Sundays and foreigners are asked to pay a small donation.

A very nice museum for a quick visit. You don't need more then an hour to see it all. There is a lot of potential in this place to lift it to a next level, but in the same time it is fun how it is. Very friendly staff. The location is also very nice, from this place there is a lot to see/experience close by.

Probably not of a lot of interest to non-Mexicans, but this is a museum dedicated to a true Mexican hero and will delight most Mexicans for that reason. His political and personal history is incredible and he was the first and only indigenous president in Mexico's history. Too bad the museum doesn't focus more on this-- Mexicans know it, but non-Mexicans would definitely benefit by knowing more about this amazing man. Everything is in Spanish, but most text didn't describe the objects, but rather delivers numerous quotes attempting to illuminate Benito Juárez. I think the 50 peso price is a bit high for Mexico (for example most museums in Zacatecas, Guanajuato, San Luis Potosí and Querétaro are 30 pesos) especially since it is small and the items didn't even belong to Juárez and his family (they just provide an idea of the time). However, seniors (adultos del tercer año) with appropriate ID are free (thank you INAPAM!) and for tourists, $2.50 won't break the bank. It supports a...
