Podium Victorie — Local services in Alkmaar

Nice place, but if you end up visiting as a person from outside of The Netherlands or for another reason do not own a maestro card, your out of luck they have a cash free zone but stupid enough they do not accept visa or MasterCard. Unlike in the Netherlands visa and MasterCards are in a lot of countries the standard debit card you get at a bank. I think if you want to have a cash free zone you need to ensure people can actually pay. In my view these should even be obliged. I ran in to these problem because I have a Swedish bank account.

Really nice venue for a standing crowd performance. Except for the drunk disrespectful idiots talking the whole time and ignoring the performance. If they are giving tickets away they need to stop. Acoustics good, lighting good. One euro for a coat check. But the bar is cashless. Huh? We stood on the balcony the second half and were pleased that the climate control worked very well...

Victorie is a nice, well-laid-out venue—kind of charming, actually. It’s not far from Amsterdam, but let’s be honest: you're not driving to Alkmaar just for fun.

We were there for Soulful Sessions, mainly for Giacomo Turra, but the sound was disappointing—honestly, pretty bad. It was super frustrating that his solos didn’t come through well. Such a shame for an artist...
