SMAK — Local services in The Hague

I’m just gonna write this review in English because I want people to actually understand what I’m trying to say here. People commenting here about the Russia-Ukraine war and saying that this store should stop selling Russian products is lowkey insane to me. All I’m going to say is, you can’t blame a whole people for the things their country is doing. I’ve been going to this store for years at this point and I’ve always been satisfied with the quality of the products. Also, if this were really a ‘Russian’ store that fully supports Russia, they wouldn’t be selling Ukrainian pelmeni that has ‘make peace, not war’ written on the packaging. If I recall correctly, they also had a QR-code up for donations to give food to the people of Ukraine. People need to stop blaming innocent people who are thousands of kilometres away from what’s...

Second time to order from here. First time they don't had borscht soup and they didn't let us know, we had to call them when the owner said they were out of the soup and we have to contact Thuisbezorg for refund. Now second time they forget the jam with the pancakes and a juice, the owner said we that we have to order again then we can get the jam and the juice on the next day because they are already closed. This is not a customer friendly attitude from the owner. The Khinkalis were over cooked and broken on the bottom. There was no broth under it or in it. We just got overcooked past with premade low quality frozen type of meat in it. I do not recommend this...

It is not just a store. Not a regular store at least. Not even a regular store where you can just come and buy Russian, Ukrainian, Georgian or Polish food. Well, you can but you will miss a catch. The catch is in the owners, the two young guys, who use the all-in-one concept of store+cafe+restaurant. You may not only buy some unique food but also come alone, bring your friends, or your beloved ones and bite some unique food, get familiar with Russian, Ukrainian, Georgian cuisine. You will not only enjoy the taste, fun and overall time spent at SMAK but also find the great healthy alternatives to the Western food....
