I highly recommend this quirky attic apartment as a base for visiting several cities in the Netherlands. Arthur, the host, made us welcome and offered several good suggestions for us to follow up, based on our interests. He was also readily, but totally unobtrusively available during our stay. The apartment is well equipped and comfortable, completely suitable for eating at home in the evening if you don't want to eat out every night (just remember that there is a ceramic hob and microwave but no oven!) There is a great, large, walk in shower room. The apartment is situated about 20mins walk from either Den Haag train station, and Rotterdam, Delft, Utrecht, and Leiden are all less than 40 mins train journey. Of course there are plenty of places to hire bikes, and lots of flat walking possible from the apartment. There is a supermarket 5 mins walk away and numerous bars, cafes and restaurants. The only possible downside to the apartment is that it is an attic apartment. This means access is by flights of steep, narrow, and twisting stairs. I gather this is common in the Netherlands, but I doubt it would ever pass building regs in the UK! I would caution against the apartment for small children or the elderly. As I say, it is not something over which the host has any control. In summary we had a delightful week in the apartment and hope to return. I happily...
Read moreI stayed for about 6 weeks in the MAFF Top apartment, and it was perfect for my stay. The apartment had everything I needed for a comfortable stay, and it was especially nice having the washing machine and dishwasher. I thought the location was great - it's close to lots of restaurants and shops (and the train stations), and a few blocks from the center of The Hague. It's very easy to get around on foot, by bike, or by tram. Arthur is an excellent host - he's not intrusive, but he's always available to help with any questions or issues. I truly enjoyed my time here, and I will absolutely consider this apartment again if I return...
Read moreArthur is an amazing host with a beautiful loft property 10 min from the train, giving you access to anywhere you wish. If you are driving, he has parking for an additional small fee (very reasonable). You will not need your vehicle while you stay, the train is perfect.
Lots to do and see (and eat). Brood Van Bro is so close you can smell the bakery, and has the best Sourdough I've ever had, as well as amazing flaky pastries. Yuzu is also one of the best meals I have had in a long time. Both less than 3 minutes walk.
I hope I have the opportunity to visit once more and stay in this great location with a wonderful human...
