This pedal boat experience was a mistake for us. There was nothing enjoyable, easy or entertaining about it. My 10-year old child and I rented a Stromma Utrecht paddle boat today and regretted it immediately. Why? It was just way too much work for two people on vacation. We had not been prepared for the huge amount of physical exertion required to move and steer these boats. We made it through 1/3 of the route, and then decided to turn back, as we were already sweaty, stressed and physically wasted from pedaling and steering of the boat. It was a very hot day.

I do not recommend this experience to anyone, really, but if you must give it a try, you should consider yourself Strong, Energized, and on the Tall side. This is necessary because the seats on the boats do not adjust, and short-legged people will be challenged to reach the pedals and get traction. Steering the boats is also arduous and requires arm strength. Combined with the hard pedaling, it made for an unpleasant experience in a beautiful place.

And lastly, the route map that is on the boat was unhelpful, as it was faded and impossible to read. It would be wonderful if the company revised and replaced them.

The employee who helped us today was both nice and professional, and did her best to provide service. Still, she cannot control the quality of the boats or of the experience you will have, once you are out on your own.

We placed a reservation for a Pedalboat on Sunday at 11 o'clock. We arrived on time and nobody was there to give us a boat. I called the customer service who told me to go to the shop upstairs, what is just a little booth on the side of the street. The booth was closed which I told the operator. She told me that she needs to get some Information and will call me back. After about 10 minutes she told me that the clerk was delayed because of his train!? She offered me to wait until 12 or get a refund. Because we had other plans after the Boattour we unfortunatly had to cancel the Boat. We were really looking forward to take this tour and were very disappointed. The main thing that disappointed was the awful customer service. How is it possible that the customer service didn't know that there was a delay. The shop should open at 10, so there was plenty of time to get someone else to operate the booth and hand out boats. This is also absurd to me because we had a reservation for 11 o'clock. Nobody tried to contact us, nobody knew that there was a delay...

(Read till the end) Worst experience ever. I reserve it and pay it in advance from internet. I get the activity 10 minutes late and wait near my boat other 20 because nobody was there. After the 20 minutes someone from the activity comes and tell me that because I get late I can’t do the activity and they resell my reserved boat to another family.

After discuss with the responsible for more than 30 minutes try to open a claim (but they didn’t have a claim book) and try to call police I get the manager number and he promised me to be refunded.
