In a nutshell - Combined Spend in 4 weeks - $700+ Nice product, Good service until something goes wrong. No follow through. No empathy. Arrogant.
I have used Wild Poppies twice in late April and once in May for flowers I sent to my partner. All went without a hitch. My partner liked the arrangements as well so she decided to use Wild Poppies for her mother on Mother’s day. Unfortunately for my partner, it wasn’t such a great experience. The delivery took one week.
The true test of great customer service typically manifests when things go wrong. The remedy for, and treatment of, the paying customer is paramount. Get it right and you have the best chance of leveraging your brand and customer loyalty. Get it wrong and, well, it’s a no brainer
Without having to delineate every detail, the poor customer experience with WP had many points of failure: 1) an email confirmation that the order had been received and paid for on Thursday; 2) No delivery on Sunday 3) On the following Tuesday no advice from Wild Poppies whether order was late, cancelled or on the way; 4) On Wednesday a courteous response from employee on follow up as to why delivery hadn’t been made. She advised that the owner would be in later and would get back to me. The owner didn’t call. I followed up several hours later; 5) Owner explained that payment hadn’t been made despite email confirmation stating it had and her attitude was basically, “too bad , we’re too busy to follow up”. We received no notification of any problem with the payment and they didn’t realise the payment wasn’t made until prompted. We know all is good at our end, so if their system let them down, then that is unfortunate. Seems I'm not the only one who has experienced this.
All of this wouldn’t have been so bad if the owner had just demonstrated some empathy instead of arrogance. The only reason we followed through with the delivery was because my partner’s mother had seen the gift and we didn’t want to disappoint her with a change at the last minute.
Will I use Wild Poppies again? I think not. And for the record I have used 3 different florists in Auckland since before and during the NZ lock down. I thought I’d share the business around to help out– about $2k, But this experience has caused a rethink of...
Read moreThank you for your response. However, I am sorry to say that since I don't live in the outer Auckland region your excuse for the late delivery is not acceptable. Also the product picture on the final order screen there is no clarity on what you are getting and the product picture remains the same whether you pay $329 or $229. Again as I said before very misleading to the public. Its a shame really especially at a time like this when alot of people are just trying to find simple joy and get mislead.
Was very disappointed. Service was very poor and the website is misleading. This gift was ordered by my partner who is stuck overseas due to Covid so we could not celebrate the day together. The gift was meant to make me and the day feel extra special but sadly this experience did not provide that all. Talk about misleading advertising. Picture on website has a champagne bottle included in the package, but was not delivered. On follow up I was told that the champagne is only included in the bigger package. No clarity of what is included when you place the final order. Picture still shows champagne, cake and flowers when the order is placed (doesn't matter which package you choose). The worse $229 ever spent. $229 for 8 roses and 4 peonies and a small cake plus delivery charge of $15 – what a complete rip off!! Moreover the gift was delivered at 5.20pm at the end of the day near tea time and my mum had to make several follow up calls to check when the gift was being delivered. She got told 2.30pm then 4.45pm and eventually it turned up at 5.20pm. Most disappointing. When I bought this to the attention of the customer service team I was told and I quote "- Regarding the time it was delivered I'm not too sure what the problem is as it was still delivered on the correct date." what a careless attitude!!! Don’t think we will be ordering...
Read moreBeautiful flowers and Ashley on reception is very lovely. However, please make sure to double check what is being sent out to your loved ones and clients as they might not receive what you actually paid for.
I have been ordering my vendor gifts from here lately and I specifically had an arrangement for a custom made flower arrangement in special wrap and bow. I had a photo sent to me of the specific arrangement and wrapping that I should expect for all my orders going forward so I could just easily call up and order the same thing - it was beautiful.
For Valentines Day, my husband called in to order the same flower arrangement for me to surprise me. It arrived and hello, there was no wrapping, no bow and no pastel coloured flowers (all items that were on my specific instructions for all my client orders). It came in a gift box which is great but is normally the cheaper option and doesn't have the wow factor which is what we pay for. To make it worse, the delivery person turned up in a real dodgy looking black dumped out van with mags and tinted windows - it looked like something out of gang land! And the delivery lady wasn't the friendliest. I thought we had an sketchy visitor!
I asked to be compensated and they offered to refund the delivery cost which is great. However no compensation offered for multiple missing items. The flowers were beautiful don't get me wrong, but just not what I ordered, I got the cheap wrapping when my husband paid for the expensive wrapping.
I don't want to have to micro manage every single order for my client gifts that go out, I'd like to be able to trust that what I have ordered is delivered. I've just googled reviews on no cowboys and see others having the same issues. Perhaps Valentines Day was just a bit busy, but it's no real excuse.
