Okra Espresso Lounge, Sandringham — Restaurant in Albert-Eden

I rated 3 stars and I really hope the management sees this review, as my friends and I have been here many times over the last couple years and normally I would vote 5 star but not now.

New menu... The prices have increased, on average a dollar or two across the board, which could be justafiable but the size of the meals have decreased. My salmon eggs bene was made nicely but now they only give you one thin piece of sourdough and the homemade hashbrown is tiny now so I was still quite hungry afterwards. Not great for nearly $20. Another person in my group had the french toast which use to come with lots of fruit previously but is now seemed quite barren. The coffee today was average at best too which normally is fantastic.

Hopefully they make adjustments to get the menu back to its original quality as I'd love to be back. But probably not in it's...

funny thing is i read the other reviews and thought maybe i was eating at another place. Seriously though i was at Okra. I counted the staff and there appeared to be more staff than customers. we were a group of 6 adults and two kids. Sure there were at least 6+ staff members. When arrived have one bottle of water and a couple of glasses put out. I didn't mind just grabbing some more glasses but was told they would bring over extra water and glasses...10 mins later??? really for water? Let me say the food was good. Funny thing though was the muffins or whatever that were served were not heated and they did not bring out butter ...had to ask for them to do this - was not offered which again took time. Essentially the service sucked big time. I have been to other places with half the staff and twice as good service so what gives? ONE word summary...

Been here a couple of times recently whilst my partner plays football nearby and will definitely be back. Staff are all so friendly and helpful, menu is diverse, cakes and treats look divine and the coffee is always spot on. I decided on the Spanish breakfast today and didn't regret it. Big serving and really yummy. Nice space too with indoor and covered outdoor seating available. Stop by if you get...
