Gordon Harris Wellington — Local services in North Island

Great shop and huge variety, but I am really unhappy with the service I received. I know nothing about paints and stuff and rely on the staff to inform me of what is good and bad. And also for my (and others') health. Asking for a paint to use for airbrushing, I was taken and advised on paint, but what the gentleman forgot to tell me is the paint is extremely hazardous and an ingredient is known to cause cancer. I would have thought that is something he should have told me about. Now I have to get a respirator to use the paint, and let's face it, this shop isn't cheap. I have no use for the paint

The best art supply shop in wellington by far, they have such a wide range of supplies, pens,pencils,markers,graffiti,paper,sketchpads,books,canvas, paint and so much more, you name it, they have it,the staff there are lovely and always help you out to find the thing you need, they are obviously experts in arts and craft. The building is in a handy location with customer parking (3 or 4 exclusive parks) and near a busstop so you can easily get to it. Note that it has moved location recently but it is still quite near the other if you mess it up. I overall think that Gordon Harris is the best place to go for all of your art craft and design needs, thanks...

Literally the only reason I go here is because of an amazing selection. 🤷 Have found the staff extremely disinterested and customer service attitude shocking every single time I visit. From multiple staff members also, not just one. Seen other customers treated the same way. They seem to know they have the monopoly on Wellington's artists so don't need good customer service. If there was another art store I would stop visiting Gordon Harris. If you know what you need and want it's a great store. But not if you need advice or assistance.
