I am so stoked on my experience at DF! After my prior regular hairdresser moved overseas from another salon, I procrastinated getting my hair done for a year as I have had a few bad experiences in the past.. so after a lot of googling, I came across the reviews on Dragonfly! I booked with Jay’d for a drastic change - blonde balayage to copper. She listened to all my thoughts then talked me through a range of ideas - and I was stoked with the result. Jay’d’s confidence changed my nerves to excitement - big fan of her energy and expertise. The cherry on top was the check in txt on the next working day from the salon and to reassure you that you can let them know if there was anything you weren’t quite happy with - great professionalism. As someone who's always had a rough time with dismissive or minimal input hairdressing - this place completely cured my woes!

My partner and I came together and both ladies we saw were just amazing. They really have a genuine care and understanding of people's concerns and needs around hair. I learnt so much about my own hair and styling.

I came in with a very vague idea of what I wanted and they were able to pinpoint it so easily and were super good with asking for feedback every step of the cut. First time I've felt listened to!

Bonus points for being extremely good value for money considering what you get (hot drinks included!). Awesome spacious shop with nice vibes.

My friend and I were in wellington for a week - We had been to Fabric Direct and on leaving saw the Dragonfly sign and on the blackboard , a half price haircut offer from Ali - I had not had time to have my hair cut prior to my leaving home so was feeling scruffy and this was a golden opportunity. Entering we were greeted by two friendly staff.Amie ( I think that was her name) sat me down and began her task. and made a lovely job of my hair. My bad hair day had disappeared and the day became much brighter. My friend was so impressed that she booked in for a "seeing to" after lunch.
