Title: Lack of Transparency and OverchargingReview:I recently visited Tony’s Tyres in Tauriko to repair a puncture in one tyre. The price quoted when booking the car was $55. When I returned to pick up my car, I was informed that two punctures in the same tyre were repaired, and I was charged $110—double the initial quote. At no point was I contacted to approve this additional cost, which is unacceptable. While I appreciate the repair work, this lack of transparency and communication left me feeling overcharged and dissatisfied. I would not recommend their service unless they address this issue. Update 21/12/24, I received a text from Tony’s tyres advising that they would give me a call off the back of my direct communication with them, which was appreciated.
Update: Following my initial experience, I was contacted by the manager at Tony’s Tyres, Tauriko. While they acknowledged the issue, I was informed that the standard charge for puncture repairs is $55 per puncture, even when multiple punctures are in the same tyre. I was offered a partial refund for the second repair, but the process required an additional trip to the store, which I decided against due to the inconvenience.
I appreciate the follow-up, but I strongly believe the pricing structure for multiple punctures in a single tyre should be reviewed. Additionally, clearer communication about any potential variations in cost before proceeding with repairs is crucial. Many customers, especially during the holiday season, may not be prepared for unexpected charges.

He saved me money twice. He didn’t just put a new set of tyres on my car but he invested his time and discovered why my tyres were wearing off very fast despite having wheel alignments ( I went to 2 tyre places prior and nobody cared or had the knowledge to sort out the reason for my tyres wearing off too fast, all they wanted to do was sell me their tyres). John also organised the best financial support with interest free and additional complimentary services. His peoples and communication skills are excellent. Manager John was really rude and dont know how to treat customers properly. First he informed me it will take 40mins to do the job. After waiting for 30mins he changed his mind and told me that he can't do the job today and IF I NEED IT TO BE DONE ON THE SAME DAY I HAVE TO GO TO ANOTHER TONYS STORE .
