We had a lovely evening at The Millhouse in Tauriko. For entrées, we shared southern fried chicken, crumbed calamari, oven baked Camembert with walnuts and crispy sidewinders, with the Camembert being a standout. Our main was a Cajun lamb pizza with kumara on a thin, crispy base, which was full of flavour and very satisfying. Drinks were equally impressive, especially a cocktail with Scapegrace Black gin that I’ll definitely be buying for home. The rustic and cozy atmosphere, complete with a warm fireplace, made the whole experience relaxed and welcoming. Overall, great food, great drinks, and a place worth revisiting.

Lovely food, friendly staff. Was a little off putting seeing a waitress constantly playing with her nose ring then bringing us our plates even after we quietly said something about it. Huge servings, maybe too huge. Delicious none the less. We will be back 😍 But please take the nose ring out if you can't leave it alone while serving food. The older lady serving was amazing. Thank her very much on behalf of the lady who couldn't eat very much due to her recent surgery 😍👍😊

Received lovely customer service today. Ordered decafe coffee but just as the barista brought it over he realised he'd made caffeinated coffee. He was so lovely & had done such a beautiful job, I decided to drink it even though he insisted on making a new cup. The caramel slice was slightly heated for us & was A... Mazing!!!! They had a good music play list playing in the background too & the atmosphere was really nice.

Plenty to choose from, and nice surroundings HOWEVER, I told staff I was a COELIAC and they tried their best (so they tell me) I had a ginger beer that was loaded with ice in a jam jar the tasted watered down (I asked for no ice) then decided on a tomato juice and it arrived more than room temperature I order from the menu Salmon and prawn (which came out on a skewer) but no prawn with it, I also ordered some pan roasted veges and they never came out until the end of my meal (and were deep fried) however I did have in the bottom of my bowl a mushroom risotto which when I questioned them regarding gluten content and was reassured that it was Gluten Free as it had rice (very over cooked) salt and mushroom stock yes their brand of stock they use has Gluten in it. Being in the food industrie I know I know well what is in different brands We were not told of the nights specials, there was poor communication between wait staff and kitchen , and the attitude of having to deal with a customer who has major food allergies was just to much for The Mill House. Please note if your a COELIAC DO NOT GO TO THIS PLACE EVER. I spent the rest of the night and some of today in that...

What a terrible, terrible experience - one I would not want to happen to others thus I feel compelled to write this review. When ordering food off a menu, one would assume that the description would be what you would get. Unfortunately not at the Mill House. We ordered a crumbed camembert with chunky cranberry sauce, crackers and bread - it came with no cranberry sauce or crackers (2 of the main ingredients as listed on the menu). We decided not to complain about it and let it pass as a simple mistake, however then our main arrived. We ordered a Mozzarella, Tomato and Basil pizza - 3 ingredients, how can you get that wrong!? Again it came with only tomato and cheese - no basil? I have now read through other reviews and found this is happening to many people. Not only am I disgusted by this freud but I am pretty sure under the consumer guarantees act that it is unconstitutional to be selling something to customers that does not match the advertised description. To add to all of that, the service was lousy and the waitress (who I think was the manager) was very abrupt and food was just slammed down on the table. Absolutely do...

Service was extremely rude kept being told “just one minute” in a super abrupt tone when trying to order our food every time we were trying to add the next item to the order. Staff member was very aggressive and most the staff looked like they hated life. Had to get up and ask for menus because they said they would be right back and didn’t come back after 10 minutes of waiting. Probably the most revolting coffee we have ever had was burnt and fowl. Had to wait almost an hour for eggs on toast and couple of pancakes after already waiting 20 minutes to order total wait time 1.5 hours is ridiculous when the place wasn’t even busy. If you are experiencing over the normal wait times it’s probably something you should advise your customers. Food came out and the pancakes were not advised they were blueberry on the menu person whose meal it is cannot eat blueberries. Ended up going in and paying for coffees and not food as we didn’t touch it and weren’t going to wait another minute for food to be remade. Server was extremely rude when we said we weren’t paying for food.

Definitely don’t recommend and will...
