The Coffee Club Tauranga Crossing — Restaurant in North Island

Ordered what I thought was a $25 eggs benedict. They charged $28 because it was on a rosti and not bread. Can accept that, although that's getting up there in price for an eggs benny, even if it's good. Disappointingly, it was bland and came with no flavour or condiment. I asked if I could have a spoonful of relish on it, they said it would be an additional $2.50 if I did. Disgusting!....you would expect a breakfast of that price to have flavour or a condiment added to it as the default, or at least available at no extra cost. Also how do they justify $2.50 extra for a dollop of relish? Would it not have made sense for the business to part with perhaps 0.20c worth of relish or tomato sauce and keep a happy customer? Not happy with the experience...I know there is inflation and all, but this was just an out and out rip-off. Have no intentions...

I'm not sure what has happened here, but we weren't greeted with the usual friendly welcoming service that we would expect from a coffee club. The food portions have been significantly reduced (at this coffee club), and the food tasted processed. We ordered the "loaded fries" and for around $27 it was poorly executed, super oily with what tasted like dirty deel fry oil. Same with the chicken and bacon club sandwich, which was a bit tasteless, like a reheated from frozen. Not to mention the tummy ache that came with it. Sadly, this is our second poor experience here, so we will stick to coffee club Bethlehem or Bayfair. It feels like the people running the place don't have the passion necessary for good hospitality. Absolutely shocking experience. Order 3 meals at the same time. First meal came within 15 mins and cold. The next two meals, after prompting staff 3 times, didn’t come for another 30 mins. Gluten free bread like concrete and completely inedible. I ordered an eggs bene with the sauce on the side and swapped the bread for cooked tomatoes. I got a disgusting serving of raw bacon and hard eggs with one tomato and tomato sauce on the side! No presentation whatsoever and they wanted to charge me $18.50 for it! The chefs were so unorganised and no clarification back from the staff when asking what was happening with our meals. We wanted to have a nice meal and eat together.
