I stumbled upon YIDL and was pleasantly surprised. It’s an ashram! The energy here is wonderful and the teachers are consistently the same. YIDL’s yoga methods involve a traditional hatha style of yoga combined with traditional meditation methods- Hatha is a gentle style of yoga and is takes patience and discipline to see the results of the practice where the methods focus more on your core. The daily morning classes go for an hour and a half and a fantastic way to start your day positive, centered and energized- it’s rather addictive :) I’ve joined level one to now level three, five months later and I can’t get enough! Wellington has a wide variety of yoga classes available and I hunted around for awhile to find the one that worked for me. Yoga in Daily Life is relaxed and peaceful. I felt immediately welcomed. the studio itself is large so you don't feel cramped or on top of others. There are mats, blankets, etc, to use if you don't have your. My favourite yoga class! I've tried many different classes in 3 different countries, and Kamla's class is my favourite! It's authentic, balanced and very well structured. The order of the poses and exercises flows really well, it builds up and winds down with some relaxation and breathing exercises. The studio is pleasant and spacious and everyone is very friendly.
