Pick up experience took us about 1 and a half hours.. First the machine would not properly scan my drivers license. Which is a valid normal European drivers license card. If your machines are unable to scan anything other than Norway licenses then inform your customers on your website before booking, or say that this service is unavailable! This was super frustrating. Called one support number it doesn’t work at all. Another one good but needed to wait. Finally the agent told me that I need my passport to he could match my drivers license photo to the passport information. But it was never stated in the booking that I will need my passport or any other documents besides my drivers license. So I left all of my documents at home.. And so I had to take 30 minutes trip home to pick up my passport to receive this god damn car. After coming back another customer had problems with receiving her cars keys as well. She kept calling the support for what felt like forever. Like 20 minutes at least. Finally someone picked up and they were able to solve their issues after like 30 minutes. Then we continued with my passport. Again called the support, waited 15 minutes for someone to pick up. Then this other agent miraculously didn’t need my passport and they could just connect to the self service machine wirelessly.. So i wasted all this time and effort picking up my document believing its the only way to solve this nonsense. This other agent finally solved our issue and gave us a car! Yay. Atleast the car was a better one since they didnt have the model we ordered. The other clients who had issues with pickup, got an electric car instead of a regular petrol one. Not sure how that works, but I would be supper annoyed by such a switch up.
So overall even if there are problems with drivers license scanning or something else it could get solved. But it might take half an hour. And dont fall for the passport nonsense, just ask them to connect to the machine and manually verify the drivers license.
With all of this in mind its up to you it you want to order at hertz with this self service pickup kiosk and play this gamble of wether the experience for you will be easy peasy or a long annoyance. Perhaps there are much more simpler...

I was very skeptical about renting here giving it is an automated machine, electric only cars and there are many bad reviews, but my experience was seamless and without issue. I went in prepared for a bad experience, maybe that made it better for me, and i read all the reviews first. It is on LEVEL 2 ROW 22 (south side). The key was issued (MG 5) within 10 minutes and UK license and CC scanned no problem. My booking was free cancelation right up until collection and the car was ready and fully charged with all damage documented. I took videos and pictures just incase like normal. Invoice was charged 3 working days after the return and everything was fine with all toll charges and no surprises. You do NOT get charged a parking fee. It is on the invoice but is discounted at the same rate, so if this is on there you should dispute it (if you only leave and come back around the time of leaving and returning). I opted to let them recharge as we were out all day and the charge for this is the cost of charge amount + 250NOK. A recharge of ~65% cost 300NOK. You CANNOT recharge in the same location or at least it is not easy to if you are a tourist. We just parked up and left the car, we did not plug it in, just leave it. I would advise to book and collect as early as possible. I collected at 7am, i have a feeling it may be first come first serve if late. Also try plan a recharge and return ONLY at 75% or close to this minimum to avoid a recharge fee. Check the damage report closely and report any new damage to the EMAIL ON THE AGREEMENT. Then enjoy your rental! The car was in good order (although annoying to drive some times) but take a cable to plug your phone in to navigate! My agreed price online was £113 and without extras it cost exactly this amount as this INCLUDES the road tax admin fee. A picture of my fees and costs is on the review so you can see.
Overall a good experience, but i can understand if there is a problem it would probably be a very bad one given that there is no one around and only a Norwegian number to call. So, a bit risky but there are few other options in the area to be honest. 4 stars as it could be better with a real...
Read moreLike most I read the reviews here and had conflicting feelings about renting from this location. I'm rating 2 star because the service was bearable at best.
I would not rent here or any self service hertz terminal ever again. The terminal user interface is terrible and the touch screen barely works. There is only one terminal so give yourself ample time to check out in case there is a queue. Hertz never sent me a confirmation email and the app stopped working so that was also really annoying. I tried to contact them via online help desk and apparently they don't work Wednesdays?!?! _----------------------------------------------------------- TIPS IF YOU RENT HERE: The Hertz terminal is on floor 2 The terminal is outside the lift.
You need your driver's license, passport, and a physical credit card with you. (I only needed my Credit card and license but bring you passport just in case)
MAKE SURE YOU TAKE TONS OF PHOTOS OF THE CAR. I can't stress this enough save yourself the headache and take photos of the cars existing damage inside and out.
Check out is easy all you need to do is scan the key fob and place It into the machine. _--------------------------------------- Don't expect tons of support from Hertz and have low expectations going into this and you'll do just fine.
I'm writing this the day of my return and awaiting a final bill from them. I'm expecting there to be no issues as I gave them the car back in the same exact way I received it. (With a bunch of scratches and damage to the rear bumper already present on the car. I attached photos) I'll update this review once I receive the final bill.
Update: Hertz is trying to charge me for pre existing damage not caused by me. I emailed them back within 20 minutes and haven't heard anything back yet. I also provided the photo proof to back up my word. We will see how this turns out. This location is an utter mess. I'll update when I get more info.
