Palau Dive Adventures: An Unforgettable Dive Experience
Top-notch service, incredible diving, and excellent value make Palau Dive Adventures a sure bet for your next dive trip.
Booking a Breeze
Booking with Palau Dive Adventures was a breeze. Grace, their amazing customer service rep, made the entire process easy and stress-free. She responded promptly to all my questions, clearly explained everything, and accommodated any requests I had. Emails were answered within 24 hours, often within minutes. They even provided a clear invoice outlining all the charges.
Relaxation at the Palau Royal Resort
We stayed at the Palau Royal Resort, and it was fantastic. The private beach and beautiful pool were perfect for post-dive relaxation. We opted for the breakfast buffet package, and the food was consistently delicious with daily variety. The room was comfortable and well-equipped, featuring a balcony, mini-fridge, and a well-stocked bathroom with toiletries.
One minor drawback was the cost of lunch, dinner, and cocktails outside of breakfast. While Palau is generally on the expensive side, seven dollars for a canned Coke seemed excessive. Luckily, there was a convenient mini-mart across the street for drinks and snacks.
Exceptional Service Makes the Difference
Palau Dive Adventures truly shined when it came to service. Jan, our concierge, went above and beyond to ensure we had an amazing experience on land. He picked us up at the airport, made restaurant reservations, arranged relaxing massages after dives, and even provided transportation to and from dinners. There was truly nothing he wouldn't do to make our stay enjoyable.
Comfortable Boat, Knowledgeable Captains
Captains Jacob and Allen were outstanding. Safety was always their top priority, and they ensured a fun and comfortable experience for everyone on board. The boat itself was well-equipped with all the necessary safety gear. Captain Jacob's knowledge of Palauan history and local life added another layer to the experience, and his restaurant recommendations were spot on! Captain Allen was a great help getting everyone in and out of their dive gear.
Unforgettable Diving with a Top-Notch Divemaster
Now, let's talk about the real star of the show: the diving! Chris, our divemaster, was worth his weight in gold. Safety was paramount during every dive, with detailed briefings and clear hand signal reviews. Chris expertly navigated the dive sites, ensuring we encountered ideal conditions and minimal crowds. While avoiding other divers entirely is rare at popular sites, there were many instances where we had the entire dive site to ourselves. Within minutes of my first dive, I was greeted by the awe-inspiring sight of a shark and a majestic manta ray!
A Word to New Divers
For inexperienced divers, consider gaining some experience (ideally 50 dives in various conditions) before tackling Palau.Additionally, having your advanced open water certification and enriched air nitrox qualification is recommended. The strong currents and some deeper dives can be challenging for those unfamiliar.
Minor Website Update Needed
The only minor criticism I have is that the dive schedule on the website might not reflect your actual itinerary. We ended up doing 15 dives over five days, exceeding the website's advertised schedule. While I certainly don't mind more diving, a website update would ensure clearer expectations. One other tip - bring your own dive torch, even if they say it's not necessary. We found ourselves wishing we had them on a couple of occasions, although the boat did have spares available.
A Once-in-a-Lifetime Experience
Our Palau Dive Adventures trip was truly unforgettable. They exceeded all our expectations and made us feel like the most important guests in Palau. While we have other dive destinations on our bucket list, Palau Dive Adventures will definitely be our choice when we return. We highly recommend them for an exceptional...
Read moreWOW - where do I even start? This trip was a girls trip that was planned 6 months in advanced. From the planning phase, Grace from PDA was extremely courteous, patient, timely in answering all questions and handling all reservations to include lodging and transportation. She kept in touch as the vacation got closer and sent us reminder emails. When arriving, everything was absolutely flawless and taken care of. Jamie was our concierge and driver - he was so friendly and welcoming. We stayed at the cove resort and they came to pick us up in the dive boat at the marina right behind our hotel making it super convenient. Jamie gave me a scuba duffel the first night to put all my stuff in and after that first day, I never had to lay a finger on my gear for the rest of the trip. My gear was cleaned and dried each night and set up for me on the boat each day. My friend rented all her gear and the rental gear was great quality and she had no issues. The first day they had multiple options around her size and she was able to pick the best fit for her.
The boat crew and our guide/dive master was FANTASTIC!! Chris was our dive guide and he did an amazing job catering to the needs of each diver (3 of us total) and ensuring we had the best possible experience. He made sure he briefed us before each dive answering all our questions and laying out expectations of the dive so we knew exactly what we were getting into. Obviously Palau is going to have a lot of tourists and other divers and he did his best to ensure we still had a enjoyable experience while catering around other divers. Before one particular dive where we were going to have to hook in, there was another company of divers with tourists that got in the water before us. He included in his dive brief to us to make sure we do not hook in the reef in front of that group to not block their view and ruin their experience. The fact that he was considerate of other companies and their experience is a testament to the morals, professionalism and respect for the community/diving that Chris and PDA have.
Jayven, Myles, Arson were the other boat crew and each of them were always professional, respectful and extremely patient/helpful in between each dive grabbing our gear for us and setting stuff up. The snacks and lunch on each day were delicious. They had plenty of towels, rain jackets, hot tea/coffee for us in case we were cold. More importantly the crew was SO FUNNY! I don’t think I’ve ever laughed so much underwater while diving than on this trip with this crew.
Overall PDA was an incredible company and I will definitely be returning to Palau and booking with them again. If you’re wanting a stress free, extremely professional and fun trip -...

I dove with PDA for five days in Jan 2020.. We are a family of four. My two teenaged kids were attending the Advanced Open Water Course, led by DM Chris.
This was my second visit to Palau after seven years. At that time my wife and I were junior divers. The experience was quite different when we compared these two diving trips. The last time we were diving with Fish n Fins. This time PDA will take care of everything for you including equipment cleaning and set up. For other companies, I believe one has to work on your own gears cleaning after the dive and set up of the tanks.
We arrived at Palau on Saturday. PDA already left a message to my hotel front office about the arrangement. Mesh bags were given to us already via the hotel. The PDA staff then came over to collect your gears the day before diving.
Pick up was at 7:30am on Monday. The dive master to guests ratio is about 1:4 maximum. I do appreciate this as safety is the priority of everything. We dove with mainly the same DM over the 5 days diving. The underwater scenes in Palau were fantastic though we did repeat in two of the dive sites. We did German Channel, New Drop off, Big Drop Off, Blue Hole and Corner, Hafa Adai (fish boat wreck), Ulong Channel, Ulong Sand Bar, Turtle wall... Chandelier Cave to finish up. The most amazing dive was the last dive on Friday with the two-minute dark swim towards the cave exit with ambient light in Chandelier Cave which made my trip totally perfect.
The trip included Jelly fish lake visit. Undoubtedly, when you are swimming with these jelly fish in the lake, you will be speechless!
We met a school of dolphins and we had a great time playing with them up-close. I was an unforgettable experience for everyone.
For some reason we did not go to Peleliu, probably the other divers on board were not up to the level of big currents.
The boat did not equip fresh water for rinsing. That's the only point that I would deduct marks. I am a macro shooter, so I did not bring my big camera this time. I am not sure if they would provide fresh water tank for serious photographer. Snacks and fruits were provided after the first dive. Lunch boxes were given after the second dive. The lunch was very good (provided by King Palace with a menu over ten choices).
My wife's gear got some problem with a broken mouth piece and O-ring in the regulator. The staff act promptly and fixed them the next day.
My kids also enjoyed the course and their time with the instructor Chris. You are professional, informative and caring. Thanks...
