Native Peruvian Restaurant — Restaurant in Urubamba

My son and I had an amazing meal at Native Cocina Peruano restaurant in Urubamba yesterday. The trout ceviche had the most delicious marinade and probably eight ounces of trout, a portion that far exceeded my expectations given that the dish is an appetizer. My son enjoyed his alpaca, which was cooked to his liking. The restaurant’s homemade ice cream was also delicious, and the beautiful interior and ambiance of the restaurant added to our enjoyment of the meal. Service was outstanding, provided by our effervescent server Judith, who was friendly and knowledgeable and even helped me (who speaks little to no Spanish) call a taxi and hail a motor taxi on the road (I love those Urubamba motor taxis!). As I was dining at Native, I was writing to my friends/family back home about the tremendous experience, who now have Native restaurant in their sights when they visit the Sacred Valley. After a few weeks in Cusco on our last day found this gem. Nice and comfy. A little bit still peruvian bare. Had an offer of two burgers for 35 and 15 for burger of the day (alpaca). The burgers were beautiful and super tasty. The alpaca wasn't dry at all. The chips were a bit old and the bread a bit dry, but I do think that's only because we were there at 16:30 and at lunch and dinner with a running kitchen it will be perfect. There were loads of fresh veggies on the burger as well. Really yum. They have handmade salsas (the spicy and the bruger sauce are super tasty) and buns. I really loved it. If you are ever near Urubamba and do not come here you are missing out. We came here on a recommendation from our airbnb host. We showed up before the restaurant was opening and they allowed us to come in early. The food was outstanding. We had multiple dishes and everything was phenomenal. I cannot finish the review without saying that our server Flor was incredible. We had our two year old daughter with us and Flor baby sat her in the restaurant’s play area and gave us time to eat after a long day of traveling.
