A series of disappointments in one night after years of not visiting the store, this was not the welcome back we expected.
It took us almost an hour just to renew our membership, it felt like lining up in a government office.
While paying for groceries, we were transferred between different cashiers multiple times just because they decide to stop accepting customers. I understand it was close to closing time, but shouldn’t the staff make an effort to assist the remaining customers properly? It felt like no one cared. No urgency, no coordination, and no common sense.
To make things worse, I planned to use the new Tap-to-Pay feature via GCash, which should work on all POS terminals. The cashier insisted they only accept QR code for GCash, even though I was able to pay using Tap-to-Pay at their restaurant earlier. I had no choice but to use the QR code, which took forever to load and eventually timed out. I ended up switching to another payment method just to get things over with.
The restaurant service was also incredibly poor. Asked for Sola (which was on the menu), but was told to go to the other restaurant to get it. Why not just let us pay there and claim the drink elsewhere? That would’ve made things much easier.
The food tray we were given was dirty, with ketchup stains all over it. Our clean napkins (tissue papers) were placed directly on top. Even after I pointed it out to the cashier, they didn’t bother replacing the tray or offering to clean it.
They’ve also removed the condiment station and replaced it with multiple garbage bins, making the area feel even more neglected. It was eyesore.
Back in 2017, the service here was excellent. Now, it feels like the place has been completely abandoned by...
Read moreIt's really nice knowing that you're inside shopping and dining in a Super store. This review might not be a big deal, but I just want to share this publicly across all google platforms so that everyone will be aware. Landers is not the store it is used to back in the days, where you will feel like a royalty when inside their store because of the nice ambiance and everything seems to be a real class quality. But as I notice when I was there, the Food Service in the Landers Central don't have unli-ketchup, mustard and those that you can find in the condiments station. They still have unli-softdrinks but that's if purchase the large cup worth P85. Ice machine is not working and still have to approach the counter to ask for an extra ice. Serving trays are broken and un-sanitized as well as their tables and chairs. If you'll notice, most of their staff, weather in the food area or shopping area are new and that's because they hire seasonal people. They rely on the agencies they made contract with which are not even in their store. It's a shame to the management of this establishment for low balling people they hire especially to fresh graduates. They assigned a degree holder to be a bagger or in any position with just a minimum wage offer and contractual basis. They pushed their people to work for 12 hours and if you can't make it for a week then all your hard will be nothing because they will not give you your pay.
So you know, Landers Superstore with a shopper of middle to high class people. Everything is great as it appears, but no one wants to know or talks about how the employees are being treated unfairly by the management in very unprofessional and rude way. Mental health doesn't matter in this...
Read moreWhen Landers in Cebu City first opened, it was a great alternative to S&R for imported foods & "big box" shopping. For a couple years we shopped Landers online, getting just about everything we ordered delivered. Then, certain items started disappearing. Puff pastry dough and phyllo dough, 2 items only found at Landers, were gone and never restocked. Other items too were gone. One day I searched for 20 items we used to buy and only 2 were available. Over time they had nothing special we couldn't buy locally. When this was brought to management's attention their solution was to come to the store to shop as often they had items not shown online. Then why even have online shopping when you don't care about updating product availability? The trip to Landers could sometimes be 45 minutes or more. And as my wife found out going there one day while in the city, what items didn't show up online the store did not have. Nothing like management lying to their customers. So when our membership expired we decided not to renew. Today I was looking for an item Google reported was available at Landers so I checked it out. Not only was the item NOT available I checked for many of the same 20 items I had checked for years earlier and none of them were there. It certainly didn't take long for a high quality supermarket to drop to a run-of-the-mill...
