By far the best food we have tried on the island and definitely the most friendly and humorous staff. We ended up eating here 3 times in a week (tomorrow might even be the 4th time, who knows*). Soups are great, apetizers like shrimps and garlic or shrimps and avocado are simply delicious, and for the main course we have tried different kinds of fish, all very very good (I peronally did not like the traditional scabbard fish and banana combination, but I generally don't like to mix sweet and savory flavors), and a couple of different steaks, all really nicely cooked, my favourite was the stone grilled one (once we got it with mushroom sauce on the side, and once with pepper sauce, both amazing). And the spaghetti with sea food were delcious too.
They also prepare really tasty Ponchas (traditional beverage with rum, honey and freshly squeezed juice) and serve nice local beer and wine.
I can honestly say for myself, that this was all in all the best restaurant I have probably visited, ever. Keep in mind, that I like relaxed, friendly atmosphere, and really dislike high-end, posh, uptight...

But we were not disappointed; the meal was superb. We had the mushrooms and mussels to start, both extremely good. Then we both had the grilled scabbard fish with banana. The fish was both huge and extremely tasty. The vegetables were cooked to perfection as were the sautéed potatoes. The services was 100% excellent, what I call 'old fashioned' service; something you don't find too often. All in all a really good experience and we will return later in the...
Read moreI don't really understand who writes a good rates to this place - the food is tragically bad. It seems that Chef doesn't really know what to do with food. We ordered soup and fish - soup seemed that was diluted with the previous day soup just some palm size veggies were added, while fish was overcooked to consistency of the porridge. When i asked specifically for the juice with no ice - I received the papaya ice shake (it was exchanged later to other type of juice). To be honest - the worst case scenario for the dinner in Madeira. I am sorry, but i recommended to...
