I had an amazing time with Mary at The Pin-up Rebels, I really appreciated the effort put in to make sure that I was comfortable - checking in about my preferences and providing preparation guides (for both physical AND mental aspects) before the session, preparing snacks for me based on said preferences, making sure I felt safe physically and mentally in the studio and providing lots of guidance and moral support throughout the session.

Gerra, the make-up artist, had amazing skills and did a wonderful look for me that complemented the outfits that I had - she also made sure that I felt comfortable throughout the process and the products she used were great because they held up really well even at the end of the day AND yet they were really easy to wash off!

Before I had my session, I was looking at all the beautiful women who had their photoshoots done and wondered if I could look at myself (or feel) as beautiful as they looked to me - when the photos were revealed, I was blown away by how they turned out! The first few photos felt a little surprising to me, but I gradually started accepting the way I looked and was tearing up halfway through the reveal... Not only because the photos were beautiful, I genuinely felt that I was beautiful.

It was the first time I've ever truly looked at my body and thought, "you know what? My body is beautiful just the way it is. I am beautiful just the way I am." As someone who struggled with body image issues, I highly recommend anyone who might want to get to know yourself or is learning to accept and love yourself more to get a photoshoot done - I promise it's one of the most liberating experiences...

To start: I was hunting for a boudoir photographer that was all female for my 1st experience. Just a personal preference as I felt that male photographers may not understand the insecurities that women sometimes have. Before the shoot, Mary checked in with me and was very prompt with her replies. I felt reassured by how much care she took to answer my queries. There was even a pictorial, detailed PDF directions on how to get to her place. That is a sure plus point for someone who always tends to get lost- aka me. When I arrived, Mary was very welcoming and laid out what to expect for the next few hours.

During the session: Mary and team were very professional, encouraging, positive vibes all the way and they just really erased any insecurities I had and I just had to focus on instructions on how to pose. Every step of the shoot was guided and cheered on by Mary and team.

Conclusion: The experience was so uplifting and inspiring that I have been sharing nothing but glowing reviews with my friends and egging them on to try a boudoir shoot with Mary. The shoot and its "high" also helped to bring me out of the emotional dumps of a recent breakup. Would I go for another boudoir shoot? YES Definitely!

Anything 'negative' about the experience? The only negative thing is that I cannot afford to pay to get ALL my photos but I had to choose 18 per my package. Cus ALL the photos were fabulous and shows a side of me I never knew...

Never expect to do boudoir photography. One day I chance upon boudoir photography in Instagram and was hesitating to do it anot.. and just when I decided to love myself more I DM-ed Mary to book her December slot.

It was a wonderful experience with Mary and Gerra, they make you feel safe and make you feels like this is not the first time you are meeting them, as I can be very shy to people whom I have just met.

I feel very safe with them and they are very encouraging till the extend that you wouldn't mind sharing them with your story. I'm so grateful and find it therapeutic to be doing this.

I was having mixed feeling in the beginning. Excited, nervous, scared and don't know what to expect from it and don't know how am I going to pose and will I be feeling awkward?

Don't worry. Trust them, trust the process and enjoy it! You are in good hands. Then you will WOW during the photo reveal. HAHAA

Hmm.. Maybe for the first 10-15mins I'm nervous..after that I feel so fun and I'm totally enjoying it. HAHA

I will definitely recommend my friends and family to try it. It's a once in a lifetime experience.

I never regret it and I do feel confident even after that. :D

I didn't know that the picture would turns out so well and never thought that I can actually have such a nice picture without even to suck in my tummy haha. The pictures shows the other side of me hahaa!
