Visited here for dinner on a rainy evening, craving something warm and soupy. We ordered two soup bases—sour spicy and tomato—and were thoroughly disappointed. The sour spicy soup was unpleasant and not to our taste, while the tomato soup was bland and flavorless. For the first time at a buffet, we didn’t request a single soup refill, as neither was enjoyable.

The ingredients were equally lackluster. The meat and fish slices were the thinnest we’ve ever seen at any buffet, leaving us unsatisfied and not even full by the end of the meal. At approximately $90 for two, the price felt unjustified compared to other buffet establishments that offer far better quality and variety for the same cost.

Overall, the experience was underwhelming, and the food didn’t meet expectations. We won’t be returning and would recommend exploring other hotpot options for a more...

I recently dined at 半亩田 贵州酸汤火锅 and had a very enjoyable experience. The standout feature of this hotpot restaurant is undoubtedly the Guizhou-style sour soup base—rich, tangy, and aromatic with a well-balanced sourness that whets your appetite without overwhelming the palate. It’s quite a unique flavor compared to typical Sichuan or Cantonese hotpots.

The ingredients were fresh and well-presented, especially the sliced beef, handmade meatballs, and assorted vegetables. The restaurant also offered a good selection of dipping sauces, but honestly, the soup base was flavorful enough on its own.

Overall, 半亩田 is a great spot for those looking to try something different from the usual hotpot fare. I’d definitely return to explore more...

Please do not eat at this restaurant if you don't want to get sick. I suspect there are food safety issues here, as I had diarrhea for a long time after eating there.

In response to the owner's reply: Your sarcastic response doesn't address the serious issue of food safety that I've raised. As a customer, I have a right to express my concerns, especially when it affects my health. Instead of making light of the situation, you should take steps to ensure that your food is safe to eat. It's possible that the severity of your food's lack of cleanliness isn't much different from a laxative.

To other customers: Beware of this owner's extremely poor and dismissive...

Ordered the sour soup hotpot value lunch set at SGD 9.9 (yes you paid SGD 9.9 only in total). The portion is big, comes with a drink and rice. Choose either pork / beef slices, there are Chinese cabbages, luncheon meats, tofu, crab sticks, potatoes etc. I didn’t finish the rice as I’m full. As a local Chinese, the soup tastes good for me. The condiment counter with many varieties, get to try the 折耳根 for the first time over here.
