As a mall, Cresta is one of those that just does the job it needs to - it excels at that job, but it doesn't do anything do anything extra (this can be either a good or bad thing, depending on your perspective).
It is more than accessible if you struggle with (or can't use) stairs as there are a number of elevators throughout the mall, the lavatory facilities are great (plenty of toilets, you'll never get stuck in a queue; and featuring "family toilets" for parents with diaper-bound children, as well as toilets for the physically disabled). There are a variety of options when it comes to shopping, but sair variety mostly focuses on groceries and clothing; unfortunately though, options are somewhat limited in terms of food - quite the number of fast food joints (which is great), but few actual restaurants (virtually no healthy options) and no cafés (there was once a Seattle Coffee, but they didn't survive the early stages of the pandemic). There is also loads of (mostly secure) parking (not a lot of car guards).
The only real problem is the schlep: Cresta is fairly large, and with two levels that means you have a lot of options available to you. The catch is where to park (I find that it's best to park as close to Game as possible, given its relatively central location); because of how the mall is laid out it has two 'ends', it is one gigantic hallway from one end to the other, and heaven forbid if you park on one end and need to buy something on the other, this is all fine and dandy if you've got a few hours spare and are planning on stopping at multiple stores, but if you're just quickly stopping by to grab something, Ferndale on Republic, Blackheath or Heathway (the latter two are directly across Beyers from Cresta) would be the more convenient options (provided they have what you're looking for).
Outside of the schlep, my only other criticism is the lack of uniqueness - Cresta is a cookie-cutter mall, you'll find much the same options and offerings at any other large shopping mall in Joburg; it's great if you're doing grocery shopping or buying new clothes, but if you're looking for something different or want a wider variety of shopping options, you'd be best served elsewhere (like...

🛍️ Review: Cresta Shopping Mall, Randburg, South Africa
Cresta Shopping Mall is a vibrant and spacious retail haven that truly caters to every need under one roof. From household essentials to stylish clothing and fresh groceries, the mall offers an impressive variety of stores that make shopping both convenient and enjoyable.
What stood out most during my visit was the seamless blend of premium boutiques, trusted chain stores, and specialty outlets. Whether you're browsing Woolworths, Checkers, Pick n Pay, or exploring fashion at Zara, Cotton On, and Truworths, there's something for every taste and budget. The layout is intuitive, making it easy to navigate even on busy days.
The atmosphere is welcoming and family-friendly, with thoughtful touches like a stunning aquarium that fascinates children and adults alike. Dining options are plentiful, ranging from fast food to sit-down restaurants, and the service is generally warm and attentive.
Parking is hassle-free with one hour of free access, and the mall includes essential services like banks, a post office, nail salons, and a state-of-the-art cinema for entertainment. Whether you're running errands or enjoying a leisurely day out, Cresta Shopping Mall delivers a complete and satisfying experience.

Read moreIt's a nice place for a more youthful crowd or people that are going on a shopping spree.
As there are a lot of stores, and two stories of of different types of stores and dining spots.
There is an entertainment area at the far end of the mall if you park at Builders, it has a SK cinema and arcade right underneath the food court.
The food court is pretty big with all the most popular fastfood chains and above that is Mug n Bean with another coffee place right across from it with equally good service and coffee just not as many eating options, but better prices.
Cresta is a very popular shopping mall already, but as I said, it's mostly for a younger crowd as there are so many layers and hallways to get lost in. My Grandma's back and feet hurt after a while when we go there, but if you go with a group of friends you can spend a few hours browsing shops, watch a movie or go to the arcade or the bowling area.
For single parents or parents that needs to get some urgent shopping done, you can take your kid to the family room to be watched while you finish off your list of things to do.
I do warn you about the parking fees, I will attach a photo for those not want to go on a...
