Lastnight 15/12/2024 I took my family to dine in. When we entered nobody greeted us (No biggy right..We here for the food) I got the attention of the gent at the door and I asked him for a table for 4. 2 Adults 2 kids. They had lots of comfortable seating available. I asked the gent if I could sit at this specific table I pointed at and he said it's a 6 seater, he will let the manager decide. I asked him who the manager was and he said the white gent with the glasses and beard. That gent rocked up and I asked him for seating and he said I can choose between 2 tables only. The one at the door or the one opposite the toilet because those are 4 seaters, the one I wanted was a 6 seater and i am a family of 4. All good we were forced to choose between the 2 and we did.. We sat received menus and I asked the waiter why can't we sit at those comfy seaters up there cos they empty but we have to sit near the swinging toilet door with a blasting fan on top of our heads.. He said those are 6 seaters and if he moves me there the managers will ask us to move for larger groups. Shocked... But hungry we chilled.. Literally 7 min later a white couple get seated at that same 6 seater I wanted and had a wonderful dinner the entire evening. Why were he denied seating there being a family of 4 with kids but 2 adults only get that seating literally a few min after us. I have doubts about race treatment in that place. The waiter was useless to every point. We ordered the largest ribs u could get and seperate meals for the kids with drinks, and I specifically told the waiter to bring the drinks with the meal. He brings the drinks almost immediately and said his sorry for bringing it now but he can't be running up and down for drinks when our meals arrive. Shocked again... We were hungry and waited for the food.. The food eventually arrived with onion rings and about 9 or 10 strips of chips for the largest ribs in the joint.. Shock x 3 had hit us. We asked the waiter about the chips and he said that's just how it is.. I asked another waiter passing by and he said don't worry IL make plan for u and he got us a handful more I'd say. By the time I cut up my ribs it was ice cold, probably due to the blasting fan above our table. The entire experience was not good and the food was not great due to it being cold within 5 min of receiving it. Treatmemt was bad but the one waiter who was there was very good and understanding. This is just my experience of this place as a family and I wouldn't visit it again...
Read moreWe'd passed this restaurant many times on Beyers Naude Dr in Blackheath and decided to try it out. Disappointing overall - we won't be going back!
It was busy, being a Friday night, which is traditionally supposed to be a good sign. However, we were seated on the entrance aisle, with waitrons regularly brushing/knocking against us as they rushed past, each time without apology. I requested to be moved, but was told there were no seats available elsewhere as they were fully booked. They didn't seem to have enough servers as we were mostly ignored after our order was taken, and I had to regularly try to ask other staff to call our waitron to request drinks or get updates on the status of our order. And the noise levels were atrocious, to the point that I had to almost shout at my partner to be even heard! Finally, I was hoping the quality of the food would offset the negatives, but it wasn't satisfactory. My partner's food was hot, but mine was cool - the kitchen had obviously cooked mine first, then failed to keep it warm until my partner's food was ready. I requested they reheat it as I dislike steak and veges that aren't hot - they took an age, and when it finally arrived the steak had been overcooked from the medium-rare I requested to medium-well-done. I was hungry by this time and had no desire to go through another long wait by asking them to redo the food, so I ate it as it was. My partner couldn't wait as her food would have become cold, so she had finished, leaving me to eat alone. The only dim positive was that her chicken was well cooked, although her potato was glassy and not cooked through.
We go out to eat to enjoy better food and ambience than we can have at home. Overall, our total experience at Thunder Gun was aggravating and well-below par, so unfortunately we...

I recently celebrated my birthday at Thunder Gun Steakhouse and Grill with a group of 15. Here's how my experience went:
Food: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ The steaks and main dishes were impeccable, showcasing the restaurant's expertise in grilling to perfection. However, there was a hiccup with the sides. Not only did we receive some incorrect dishes, but a few of them were also served cold. While the primary offerings left us delighted, these side issues slightly dampened the dining experience.
Atmosphere: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ The ambiance at Thunder Gun is engaging and inviting. It felt like the perfect setting for a birthday celebration. There's an energy in the air that's quite infectious.
Service: ⭐️⭐️ This is where our experience faltered. Despite having a large group, we expected the service to be top-notch. However, it seemed as though the three waitstaff assigned to our table were overwhelmed. We constantly found ourselves searching for them and had issues getting our orders processed correctly. Given the size of our party, we anticipated challenges but hoped the establishment was equipped to handle them efficiently.
Even though the restaurant was bustling with patrons, it's essential for waitstaff to know their table's orders and ensure that the right food goes to the right guest.
In conclusion, Thunder Gun Steakhouse and Grill has great potential and, in many aspects, lives up to its reputation. However, they need to iron out the kinks in their service, especially when accommodating larger parties. If they can address these issues, I believe they can provide a truly...
