Disappointing Experience with R99 Special at Ocean Basket Cresta – 16 June 2025

Dear Ocean Basket Management,

I am writing to express my deep disappointment with the service and experience my family and I received at your Cresta branch on 16 June 2025.

We visited the restaurant specifically for the advertised R99 special. Unfortunately, what should have been an enjoyable meal turned into a frustrating experience: • We waited over an hour for a table. • Once seated, we had to call twice to place our order, as no waiter initially attended to us. • We noticed that other customers, who were seated after us, received their meals before we did. • Most concerning of all, we ordered two R99 specials which are supposed to come with a 100g portion of fish. However, both my daughter and mother-in-law received halved portions. • When we questioned this, two waiters gave us incorrect information, yet we observed that other customers who ordered the same special were served full portions of fish.

This feels misleading and unfair. If there are limited quantities or changes to portion sizes, customers should be informed upfront. We left the restaurant feeling disappointed, dissatisfied, and frankly, misled.

I hope this matter is taken seriously, as this experience did not reflect the service and quality Ocean Basket is known for.

The food was soo nice I enjoyed so much of calamari heads and nice with chips it was amazingly delicious. we have ordered the meal as the Office celebration about many orders 20+. Our mistake we did not Count how many orders upon the accepting the order we believed the waiter who presented the orders to us because it was packaged and on bags.

When we returned back to the office and we started counting we found that 1 order was missing, get me right we had a checklist as the colleagues were accepting the orders, we didn't have any extra person that we could accuse. To our surprise one order was missing but the drink that was supposed to go with the order was there. We returned back to Ocean basket Cresta and we had to re-purchase that one order after we explained the issue and mind you we bought 20+orders. I don't wanna lie IAM DISAPOINTED. MAKE SURE YOU COUNT YOUR ORDERS UPON ACCEPTING IT do not trust waiters/waitress for their word.

Ohh by the way last thing, the salad didnot have a FETA cheese as...

The service and food at ocean basket cresta mall is horrific.

Apon arrival, we were told to sit anywhere and the waiter took a long time to bring menus. Keep in mind that it was empty.

There was no starter bread brought to the table. They said that they had none.

The sushi was warm and not fresh, the wasabi was watery.

I ordered panko prawns as a starter, So disappointed in the burned crusty prawns I was served. It looked as though it was fried in old oil, hard as a rock and underneath the crust, it was still shelled and the heads were still attached, under the breading? The starter also only arrived 15 minutes after the main.

My partner ordered hake and chips, one hake was deboned and one was not. When asking we were told "you have to request to have the bones removed"????

We ordered a Mojito jug that was hot with no ice and had, what we suspect, no alcohol in it, even though we ordered it with alcohol.
