On Saturday 14 October 2017 at approximately 09:10 I left my cell phone in the Hobart Grove ladies basement bathroom. At 09:30 I realised that I had left it behind and raced back to Hobart Grove. Upon arrival I ran to the bathroom to see if the phone was still there – it was not. I then spoke to the underground parking guards to ask if anyone had handed in a cell phone. The head of maintenance who explained that he is always on site came over to see if he could assist. The security guard and head of maintenance took me to the upstairs security office to the view the security camera footage. In the meantime I phoned my phone which was ringing but there was no answer.
We viewed the footage and managed to figure out that a lady in gym clothes had entered the bathroom after me carrying nothing and when she left had something under her arm. One of the security guards suggested going downstairs and for me to ring the phone to see whether he could hear it. When I rang the phone it was answered. The man on the phone explained that he was a personal instructor from the CrossFit Gym that is situated in the basement. One of his clients (obviously the lady in gym clothes) had given him the phone. I was so relieved. I filled in an incident report and rushed down to the gym to collect my phone.
I would like to put on record how amazing the security staff from Thompsons as well as the head of maintenance were throughout the whole ordeal. Please could you pass on my thanks to all involved in the incident. When situations like this arise it is wonderful to see that we have such helpful people who are so ready to assist in whatever...
Read moreHobart Grove Centre is a convenient and charming destination that, despite a few minor layout and access quirks, offers a great selection of shops and eateries. While it might take a moment to get your bearings, the centre's variety makes it a worthwhile stop.
The real strength of Hobart Grove lies in its diverse offerings. From a well-stocked Spar supermarket to unique specialty stores and a fantastic array of restaurants, there's something here to suit every need and craving. I particularly appreciate the excellent dining options, which provide a welcome change from the typical chain restaurants found elsewhere.
Though the parking can be a little tight during peak hours, the free parking is a definite bonus. The centre has a laid-back, community feel that makes shopping and dining a pleasant experience. Once you navigate the layout, you'll discover why it’s a go-to spot for locals looking for both convenience...
Read moreThis shopping centre seems a little undecided about what it wants to be and so there is a frustrating fragmentation in its development progress. There are good options for your everyday shopping needs and the Spar is well stocked but with cramped isles, try avoid rush hours. The restaurants serve good food but lack atmosphere. There is incredible potential for this centre, but it needs the right vision and will. Parking is manned but not controlled. Underground parking is quite limited so if its raining, you probably won't...
