Terrible experience on Saturday 1 May 2021. Invited friends from out of town to have dinner at Doppio Zero Bryanston. Came away mortified that I recommended we dine here. On entering the establishment, there was no one to take details, temperatures or spray sanitizer. Service started off fairly well, friendly waiter who was patient with us trying to decide what to eat. G&T's was the drink order of the night - supposedly doubles, which looked suspiciously more like singles. The pasta was so "el dente" it may have hit the water for 2 minutes. We had to keep looking around for the waiter and wave and try make eye contact and he would scamper off (the restaurant was not particularly busy). We ordered dessert (hot sticky toffee pudding) at 20h30 along with 2 cappuccinos. By 20h50, no dessert and no cappuccinos. Waiter no where to be seen. 20h55 the waiter arrives to say 3 minutes until we get dessert and he will bring the cappuccinos with dessert. 21h10 - no dessert, no cappuccinos. We eventually got the attention of another waitress and asked for the dessert & coffee order to be cancelled and to get us the bill. 21h15 our waiter arrives at our table, now sounding as though he is slurring his words and proceeds to give us a guava pavlova and cheesecake. We advise that is not our order and reiterate that we have requested our bill and the dessert order to be cancelled. 21h25, the waiter arrives all chuffed at the table with the hot sticky toffee pudding. An HOUR after ordering and after requesting TWICE for the order to be cancelled. We eventually had to go to the front of the house to get the bill. We did not have the dessert.
Most definitely will not be coming back to this, and possibly any other Doppio Zero, after...
Read moreI would offer a negative rating if possible. That manager Thomas is incredibly rude. He tried to mansplain why he can't make the pizza I ordered and then decided to talk over me and cut me off everytime I got a word in. Absolutely disgusting behavior. He told me other stores aren't open for pizzas and I shouldn't order a pizza in the morning which is non of he's business or concern. I did tell them that it was a lunch order but I won't have the time later on to order so I prefer it being ready whenever they are. But he insisted I cancel and contact Uber. More admin for me instead of just canceling it on their side. I'm not sure how anyone can tolerate that attitude so early in the morning. There are ways to get the msg in. It's easy to be polite especially when the customer is and especially when the error is completely on the stores side. Extremely disappointing and I will definitely not support this store with that management. He's definitely not a people's person and he should definitely not be allowed to speak to customers if that's he's tone. I really hope the call...
Read moreMy kids and I love the Doppio Zero franchise, it’s delicious food and ambiance but today was a dismal experience. My little girl always orders crumbed chicken strips and chips but I guess they’ve changed the seasoning of the flour used for the crumbed coating. Tasted too peppery and the chips were too thick and undercooked. It’s a pity I didn’t get to taste her food until we got home (incredibly enough she couldn’t even finish her meal which isn’t like her). There was a kids early birthday dinner taking place as well so it was quite noisy today. The ambiance reminded me of Spur. My son had the ribs and chicken thighs mains and it was underwhelming; he complained about the lack of sauce on the chicken, that it was quite dry. My chicken piccata was good as always. Today's outing to Doppio Bryanston was honestly and truly an expensive meh 🫤 We’ll continue going to our usual Doppio for the next few months. Big thumbs up though to Thando who remembered us from last year and welcomed...
