Perron is one of my favourite Mexican restaurants & a definitely a place to visit for Mexican food lovers. Their food is delicious with perfectly balanced flavours, the food never disappoints. The restaurant has an authentic Mexican atmosphere with cacti planted along the edges. The chicken wings starter is to die for and the pork belly is great too. The portions are generous from the nachos, to the tacos & especially the burritos! The guacamole & crema served with certain meals are the best I've had! For dessert you can't leave out having the churros with the caramel dipping sauce, so yummy! The Margarita's are a a must try! The staff are attentive & friendly. I used to go to the Perron in illovo and was quite excited to see that the resturant in Bryanston was still open. We ordered tacos and I was beyond excited to end the night with some churros. My churros arrived and they looked off (flattened and didn’t retain their shape) and upon tasting them, they turned out to be stale. I sent them back to the kitchen and later asked the waiter if I was correct. He confirmed that I was, and added that they had made the churros the day before, when they normally make them fresh every morning. He said that ‘the kitchen staff was too lazy to make a new batch.’ Churros are quite literally fried dough so this was infuriating because how could we be sure that we had fresh food? This was an upsetting experience. I won’t be returning because this isn’t the same restaurant that used to care about what they serve their customers....
