Macho Grill — Restaurant in Jeju

This place is hands down the best Mexican food, quite possibly in all of Asia and other parts of the world. We’re from Southern California and have been traveling between Europe and Asia for the last 5 months. Needless to say we’ve been missing the flavors of home and CaliMex food. We saw some reviews of this place saying this was as good as TexMex so we had to try. Macho Grill absolutely delivered! We’re in Jeju for 3 nights and literally came back twice, which we never do when abroad since we want to try different restaurants. My husband doesn’t even usually like Mexican food, but he was even begging to come back. We got the bulgogi burrito twice and bulgogi quesadilla. Had a late lunch here with family and we were so glad it wasn’t closed between lunch and dinner. We ordered a few items to share, namely fish tacos, bulgogi tacos both with corn tortillas, the octopus ceviche and sides of guacamole (we added an extra order of guacamole 🥑 ). We had the whole place to ourselves and everything tasted fresh and delicious! We also shared a tangerine margarita which was so refreshing. Nothing to fault about the food and in fact, it was about the best fish tacos we’ve ever had. The dressing for the ceviche was the perfect balance of citrusy sour and sweet, and wonderful served chilled. Wish we had space to order and try more things on the menu! I was really wanting Mexican food during our stay in Jeju. This was the first option that popped up, and luckily we decided to go, because it was excellent. I know it won’t be ‘authentic, authentic’ Mexican food. But this place is awesome! We got the 3 meat fajita platter. Which was delicious. I loved the topping choices that came out with it. The carnitas were PERFECT. I usually don’t like carnitas from anywhere, but the flavor of these were practically spot on! We also got the tequila sunrise. But that didn’t get pictured😅 And he wasn’t skimpy on the liquor. It’s hard for me to find balance with mixed drinks cause they’re either made with too much juice and not enough liquor, or vice versa. But the tequila sunrise here was yummy!
