Local Tapas — Restaurant in Barcelona

This was the first tapas restaurant we tried on our trip to Barcelona, trusting the google reviews, but as soon as we walked in, I realized that we made the wrong choice. First of all, don't let the name fool you, this is not a local tapas bar because no one working in the place is local. I think it is a business run by immigrants. We ordered patatas bravas, octopus paella and garlic shrimp. The paella had a heavy seafood smell. If I hadn't tried paella somewhere else later, I would have thought that this was the original version of this dish, which is a shame. I paid 26 euros for this smelly paella. I tried a great pealla in another place for 10 euros. Look at the price difference. The patata bravas was like sauce poured over boiled potatoes. The shrimp was the blandest and tasteless shrimp I have ever had. I am amazed how this restaurant was given these points, please don't cheat people. They charged 9 euros for boiled potatoes. Our experience at Local Tapas was nothing short of exceptional! From the moment we arrived, we were warmly welcomed, and the atmosphere was inviting and full of charm.

The food was absolutely outstanding. We started with their toast topped with ham, goat cheese, and a delicious tomato jam—each bite was a perfect balance of savory and sweet. The prawn scampi was cooked to perfection, bursting with flavor, and the highlight of the meal was the paella with octopus—rich, perfectly seasoned, and absolutely mouthwatering. Every dish was beautifully presented and full of authentic Spanish flavors.

A special mention to our waitress, Abby, who went above and beyond to make our evening even more enjoyable. She was incredibly attentive, kind, and genuinely cared about ensuring we had a fantastic dining experience.

The culinary experience I had in this place on 2nd March , was so amazing that I had to get back. We order many dishes to share , but as I was looking at other tables I wanted everything. The Tuna tartare with Anchovies is my favorite one . So full of flavors. One of the best paella I ever had was the seafood paella. I loved the cheese cake. Abby has amazing personality, very attentive to details, smiling at all time and making great recommendation! Service is exquisite.. it has an organic flow .
