Let's Cook is a great service, we've been enjoying it for a few months now. It's great to have 2 dinners a week already planned and accounted for. The quality of the ingredients is great, better than we seem to get in most local supermarkets, and just about all the recipes have been a hit in our family.
I will give some feedback, but it's nothing to justify going down from 5 stars. This is mostly based on comparison to another service we used in the US before moving to Barcelona.
Sometimes the recipe instructions are not very specific, e.g. it usually doesn't say whether to use low/medium/high heat, and sometimes doesn't estimate a time but says "until done". You need to have some cooking intuitions. The quantity of food is quite high for 2 people. It's mostly a positive feedback because it's great to have leftovers. But we did find one of the advantages of our previous service was built-in portion control, which we don't have with Let's Cook. We were surprised at a recipe that required a hand blender. Luckily we have one but it's more than the usual equipment. Maybe we missed this information when choosing recipes. It would be nice if there were more "exotic" ingredients that are hard to find or we wouldn't otherwise buy. For example, there was a Thai dish that would have been great with lemongrass. Or some fresh pasta would be nice, the pasta dishes were all with dry pasta.
That said, we have never had a problem with the freshness of the ingredients whereas in the US it wasn't always the case despite that they used tons of ice in the packaging. Which reminds me, packaging is something Let's Cook does great. Quite minimal and ecological but we've never had anything...
Read moreLet’s Cook makes preparing meals so simple. It helps to save me time and makes my life much easier. It is so convenient to select the following week’s menu online, and like clockwork a brown paper bag containing the ingredients is delivered to my doorstep on Tuesdays. Inside the bag are all the veggies and herbs, and meat (optional) needed to prepare the food, so I don’t have to make a quick run to the food market. There is no food waste because the ingredients are precisely what the recipe requires. Let’s Cook takes the disfunction of planning menus, shopping, and cooking out, and makes cooking fun again! Since ordering from Let’s Cook, I feel like a professional Chef in the kitchen making tasty and delicious foods. All I have to do is wash, cut, and follow the recipe (which is sent to me by e-mail) and cook or bake the food. The photo and the menu card show me how to beautifully present the food on the plate. The simplicity is very satisfying! The taste of the food is always amazing! The recipes are simple yet so very delicious! Cooking and preparing the food feels like a huge accomplishment with little effort. It is also nice that I can change my menus from vegetarian to meat depending on what I am craving and what menus are available the following week. I love Let’s Cook and highly recommend it to anyone that has a busy schedule, and doesn’t have time to plan menus or grocery shop or is even a tiny bit disfunctional in all three. Let’s Cook is delicious gourmet food made easy...
Read moreI've been a customer of Let's cook since September 2020 and I absolutely love it.
I signed up to the vegetarian option for 2 people, 2 recipes weekly. I live alone, so basically I have 4 meals per week, I keep half for lunch the next day :)
The customer service is quite seriously one of the best experiences I've had, ever. The quality of the ingredients are great, the menu options are plentiful.
You get an email each week with a 'how to make it' step-by-step guide for each meal (including a link to a video that shows you what to do). You'll also get a reminder each week by email or whatsaap to update your meal choice. There's plenty of choice and today I noticed a new recipe added to the list.
The recipes are balanced, full of flavour and, for the most part, they take around 30 to 40 minutes to prepare, cook and serve.
A HUGE plus for me, personally is that there's zero waste. You get what you need. Also, there's very little plastic involved. Note to Let's cook: I'd love it if you could go zero plastic.
Another big plus for me is the value for money, combined with eating more healthily. Much better for my pocket and my waist!
I've recommended Let's cook to several friends and they're all enjoying it AND there's a referral program, so both me and my friends get a little bonus.
Theres no long term commitment either, if you want to skip a week or cancel, it's all good.
Give it a try. You've got...
